This year it was stated that dressing up for Halloween in any costumes was NOT allowed. Halloween is ONE day of the entire school year that people are allowed to express themselves fully and not be judged or ridiculed for it. Also, just because the school says not to, doesn't mean the kids will abide. On the Facebook.com website - there is a group dedicated to the cause. There are currently 484 members and still growing. Many feel if the ban is upheld it is contradicting itself. If students cannot dress up on Halloween, why should the Cheerleaders be allowed to wear their "costumes" on Fridays. They are probably equally as distracting as any Halloween costume. This petition is here for the students to assert themselves and fight for one day of self-expression.
