Nice one davethebass, NCC muppets wouldnt recognise culture even if it bit them on the *r*e. Where else will John Cooper Clarke appear? The Deco - I dont think so
I have attended countless gigs in the last few years travelling from Luton and in my opinion the Roadmenders is probably the best venue outside of London.Keep it open
As well as bigger acts coming here, its a place for local acts to showcase their talent. And one of the only local places that gets 14 year olds off the streets into somewhere they feel safe but 'grown-up' too. Its crucial it stays open, please continue your funding.
I've used the Roadmender since I was 14 (1967) I last attended on 2/11/05 to 'rock me jocks off'. Nuff said there.
One question. How much is being spent on the Rep' & Derngate?
I see no reason why, with the right support & some local advertising, the Roadmender should not stay open. The Roadmender is about the only halfway-decent thing about living in Northampton - don't take it away!!
u already shut radlands, roadmender is just as gd if not better and its the only place for people to go where alcohol ent around on the under 18 days and we ave a laugh there. It would be a BIG mistake to close it and people will cause trouble if u dnt keep it open!! SAVE THE F***ING ROADMENDER!!!

The closure of Roadmender would be a great loss to Northampton. If the public funding is removed (a ridiculous idea), we must ensure that private funding replaces it.
Closing the Roadmender centre would be a huge loss to Northampton! Over the years I have attended music events, art displays, theatre, photography displays, I have watched young disadvantaged people play Basketball, laughed my socks off at top class comedy and young mums discuss parenting skills over a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake! I myself started my musical career at the Roadmender rehearsing in various rooms. One of the highlights of my career was playing at the Roadmender with the Fall in '93, I think it was! Were it not for the Roadmender, I would have had no career in music! Look at this list: The Stone Roses, New Order, Thomas Dolby, The Magic Numbers, Hayseed Dixie, The Fall, Primal Scream, Happy Mondays, and many many more....all of these paople thought the Roadmender was worth playing at and bought both a slice of culture and financial benefit to the town. Don't shut it down! If the Tory party want's to re-invent itself as it tells us it does, start right here! Show us you mean business! If you shut this place down, you show us that you have learnt nothing and changed nothing!
The Roadmender is a an old institution, that was a few years back given a new lease of life and should be allowed to continue providing entertainment of all varieties for the youth of Northamptonshire. It is a clean, safe environment for people of all ages to experience quality entertainment and this should be supported by the Borough Council and the County Council.
The Roadmender is one of the only places in Northamptonshire that gives people the opportunity to have a wide range of different and amazing experiences. I grew up going to it and it should still be there for other growing up.
It is typical Northants narrowmindedness that is the people in the County Council that thinks this is a good idea. KEEP IT OPEN
i spelt my name wrong the first time. so have another vote on your partition.
the council wouldn't fund radlands either. and radlands and the roadmender are some of the most popular places for kids in northampton. it gives us something to do. so tell me, what are you going to give us to do instead?
The Soundhaus funds itself. Why can't this place? Keep the roadmender open, and don't hold back funding, it's a great venue. But that money has got to be well spent or this will come back time and time again.
Hw can u even consider closing the roadmender. It is the only gd music venue in northampton, cz lets face it, the soundhaus is abit of a ****hole. The roadmender is a tourist attraction i suppose as wel, bcoz people who want 2 c bands will travel 2 a venue from far away. So dont close the roadmender, kids and adults alike need it
Closing this venue would be idiotic. There many reasons why I moved to Northampton last year but a decent music venue was up there with all of them. Don't take this town off the music map!
Don't close the roadmender so many awsome people have played there. So many kids and adults have so many great memories of spending time there listening to music! You really can't close it!
this place was the first place i pickd up a mic infront of a crowd,i luv da place along with every 1 else,it cant close...cummon council keep it real....
What!? Close Roadmender? are you crazy? This Venue is a crucial part of the areas music scene. The futures bright, the futures Roadmender. Removing funding from Roadmender will damage the local artists and the music scene of Northamptonshire
Yet another example of Councils pulling funding from things so many people love and enjoy. Keep giving Roadmender funding. Don't let places like this lose everything
Roadmender provides a great intimate venue for upcoming band to show their talents. Come on you tight fisted council w**kers get your hand in your pocket!!!!!
