Best music venue in Northamptonshire. Have enjoyed many memorable nights, many great acts. would detract from the town tremendously to loose the Roadmender. Freinds and I regularly travel from Wellingborough to enjoy a night out there.
how can northampton even think of becoming a city if it can`t surport the one think that tends to bring people together?life would be a bit dull with out the experence of live music!
I really enjoyed the Roadmender when I went there - would love it if Edinburgh (where I live) had a council supported venue like this of such high quality!
I moved to Northampton from Swansea 18 months ago and was amazed by the Roadmender! Swansea's got nothing like this, the council here don't know how lucky they are having a venue that attracts such well known and new talent. Lose this place and lose the only REAL attraction that Northampton has!!!
This is an important venue not only for Northampton itself , but for the surrounding area. If the council wish to turn the town centre into a cultural wasteland they are certainly going the right way about it. Short-sighted and stupid thinking!!
Whilst I understand the Councils need to save money I believe that to withdraw the Roadmenders funding will not only prove to be a false economy, it will remove one of the towns important facilities that actively helps to provide an alternative to binge drinking yob culture.

This is a great venue, there is no other venue in or around Northampton that is even close to matching the atomsphere that this venue creates. Part of music will die if the club closes.
if the council stop funding roadmender which may i add costs the tax payers less than 10pence anually and all of roadmenders loans ect are fully paid back on time, more kids are going to end up on the streets making trouble smoking drinking taking drugs ect... it will either be brought by someone and changed into a over 18's club or just close down end of. why are the council taking everything away from the teenagers yet they still expect there o be no trouble from them. everyone who can go to county hall on monday please do and contunue fighting for the future of roadmender...what else 1/2 decent does northampton have??
Roadmender is a crucial part of northampton nightlife and music scene, to get rid of this excellent function wud destroy northampton!

Roadmender is not just for teenagers. I've seen Baba Maal, The Women of Cape Verde, Sharon Shannon, The Proclaimers to name a few.
For crfying out loud - there is little enough in the way of arts and culture in the area. Northampton needs the Roadmender!
Look at how much pleasure it gives young people. They can go watch new upcoming bands in a safe environment. It would be crazy to close this place.
Why here? The council are spending enough money on Derngate. Sort out your priorities!!!

Roadmender was the venue where i saw my first ever band, InMe, i'm seeing them again in december but unfortutnly its not at Roadmender, for the Roadmender to close down would be a major disappointment.
i dont get this at all. why close roadmender and not kaos? roadmender is 100x better!!!
also isnt it good to keep kids off the road in a safe environment, than them being on the roads to 10/11 subject to drinking/smoking/drugs/vi olence/rape etc??????
