In 1920, psychatrist Edward J. Kempf coined the word "Homosexual Panic" in where a person goes temporarily insane because someone they know is either attracted to them or has come out to them as being homosexual, and might commit murder (and) or suicide.

Later in years; the courts have decided to add "Gay Panic" as one of the many defense claims a person can make. Now, going insane for a different reason is acceptable, but this defense is basically saying that it's the victims fault. It's the victims fault for being gay? It's the victims fault for not wanting to hide? It's their fault that YOU killed them?

Come on; this is pathetic. A person cannot black out and commit murder all because someone likes them of the same sex; or came out to them. That's weak; they killed them out of fear, not insanity. They couldn't handle the truth, and maybe they were homosexual themselves. This defense claim should be removed; it was coined in 1920..it's 2006 and our society is becoming more accepting of homosexuality.
