I have two Blue pits and they are my life. There is no way that Georgia can pass this law beavuase it infringes on the rights of humans. How stupid is it to allow humans the right to bear arms when gun violence is so high, but in the same breath ban a breed of dogs based on the irresponsibility of the owner. These dogs only do as they are told and taught. So who is really to blame, The owner or dog???
The American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and the Bull Terrier are all good dog breeds, that are good with children, and are strong and honorable animals. It is a disease in America to blame the result and not the cause. Punish the owners of the improperly trained and maintained animals not the animal it's self. Bill 78 is one drawn up out of political motivation with fear as a chaser. Leave my beautiful Staffy alone.
This is called racial profiling- for dogs. Statistically, labs and cocker spaniels are more dangerous. Pitbulls are loyal, loving family dogs when they are not raised by drug dealing monsters. Just because law enforcement and government officials aren't smart enough to catch these drug dealers and their fighting rings, doesn't mean that my family pets have to suffer. Its wrong, cruel, and ineffecient. Haven't you learned yet, that when you make something illegal, it just makes it THAT much more desireable to the wrong kind of people? Absolute stupidity. I'm ashamed of this country. These are our FAMILY pets. I have two small boys, 2 & 3 years old. They love my pits to death (as do I), and vice versa. Do you think that I am going to let you take away my sons' best friends? I REALLY don't think so.
I support this petition 110%.I own a pitbull and he is the biggest baby.Ban a breed is like banning a human because of thier race. Now the goverment wouldn't do that because that is called racisim but that is exactly what they are doing!!!Its wrong they should just say that anyone who owns a dog,of any breed should take it to obedience classes. It's the people who bought the dogs to use and abuse them to make them vicious are the ones who made this ban happen.
i think they need to get rid of the people who did this to the dogs.these dogs are just dogs they did not ask for this.they just want to be loved. i have one and it is the best dog i have ever had . so before someone hurts the dogs look at the people who have them .some people don't need to have pit's all they do is fight them and not love them like we do.maybe they should put these people in jail and give these dogs a good home .
I think that it is wrong. Think of how you would feel i your were gona be treated like something vicious when your not. Shure they can get aggressive but its not the dog, is the owner. Treat your dogs with respect and dont make the owner feel sad when one of the puppies(new born) could be killed for beeing a Pitbull.
It is the owners resposibillity to teach and socialize not the dogs. the law should restrict backyard breeding and people who own pets beyond their means not the breed.
I support this petition. I recently got a pit puppy, and he is just like any other puppy. He's not dangerous, just a clutz. :) They need to think about making laws against the irresponsible and cruel owners more severe to discourage people from trying to make a mean pit bull. This ban is like saying that whatever race the majority of violent criminals is, then having that entire race banned from a state.... which is completely ludicrous.
I support this petition. I am from London ontario and i am also a pittbull owner an right now we are or should i say we already went through what you guys are going through we lost and now have to have them spayed, micro chipped and muzzled at all times out side the home and i think it is just a crock!!! i know my dog is one of the most lovable creatures on the earth she loves people and adores kids so i would llike to wish you the best and let you know im with you !!
I support this petition.I own and breed pit bulls and i also have three children. All my chilren are under 5 years old and I can honestly say I would trust all of my dogs around my kids.My dogs have never bit any person or dog. It upsets me that a cocker spaniel or tea cup can bite some one and noone thinks twice about it, but a pit bull bite someone and its on the local news.My best friend was biten by a tea cup in the face, it was so bad he recieved 20 stiches from the corner of his nose to the side of his mouth. I didnt see his story on the six o'clock news.
I challenge anyone to come to my house and do a temperment test or just spend time with my dogs. I guarantee they will change the mind of anyone who believes pit bulls should be baned.678-898-2175 call anytime.
I support this petition. I own 3 pitbulls myself and have raised them since they were 4wks, 6wks, and 7 wks old. They are not just an "animal" to me by any means. They are a part of my famly, like children of mine. I have nurtured them, showed them nothing but love and they truely show it back everyday. My children adore them and they adore my children. To blame it on a "breed" is equal to prejudice among humans. Can you blame a race, gender, or religious beilief for all of the horrible things that happen in the world??????
I support this petition.I have lived with pit bulls for the past 40 years of my life and it discusts me to see this breed discriminated against. I quit breeding to sell in the late 80's when i noticed that just about everyone that was calling about my dogs were not worthy of owning this breed. Now it is so damn cool to say you own a pit bull that everyone wants to buy one and all you have to do is get on the internet and make a few small clicks and there you go. every time i see a pit bull attack on the news it is in or around atlanta and in most cases the owner is barely capable of providing themselves with proper nourishment, exercise, and shelter that god only knows what made them think they could take care of a dog. In my opinion over the last forty years with twenty or more at a time pit bulls are not dogs that can be without proper exercise and room to play. I remember in one attack in atlanta in 2005 the female who owned two pit bulls lived with the dogs and her child in a two bedroom apartment. what the hell are these people thinking. I would also like to know how many of these attacks were really done by pure bred american pit bull terriors. People please quit breeding these dogs just to be cool and make a few dollars. there are enough of these dogs in animal shelters.
I support this petition. I own a pit bull, and I could not imagine being without her. She is a great dog from a great breed, and I would get another definately own another one. All irresponsible and cruel dog owners, especially those who fight them, should be punished.
I support this petition. It's all in how you raise them. Yes, i agree it should be illegal to fight them but not to raise and love them. American Pit Bulls are the oldest breed of dog & we should be supporting the healthy growth not trying to make them extinct!!
I support this petition. It's all about the environment in which the animal is raised. Heaven forbid our laws should reflect personal accountability instead of generalized legislation based on knee-jerk scare tatics. Personally I've had an American Bulldog for 10 years and he's the best dog I've ever had or seen. He's also my best friend and I'll pick him over the state of Georgia any day.
I support the petition. It's all about the way you love and nourish your dog of any breed, you can't just outcast the American Pitbull because of the way they have known to be treated and the way people have used them to fight.I have a female and she's 6 1/2 months...I don't know her to have a mean bone in her little-big body. If I were to tell her to bite someone she'd look at me like "Are you serious?" My advice is to just forget about it and leave the poor MISJUDGED dog alone.
I support this petition. I'll admit, pit bulls make me nervous but that doesn't mean we should be killing them. I have been around many pits and they have been nothing but friendly. A dog is going to behave in the manner it's owner is going to raise it. It's not the dog's fault that their owner may be an idiot.
I support this petition. I personally in my home right now have 8 pitbulls...2 girls,1 boy grown and 5 puppies! I love them they arre the most wonderful and emotionally expressive dogs! They know when your sad and they know when your happy! I love my pitbull!
I support this petition. Banning these precious animals is just plain ridiculous! I have been around pit bulls ALL my life and have never been attacked... Why punish an innocent animal. Punish the irresponsible owners. All Dogs can be vicious... it is not the breed it is how they were raised! Please don't ban my babies!!!
I am extremely proud of my pits. They are intelligent, loving and loyal. I also was raised with my parents own a pit for the majority of my life. They truly are great dogs and wonderful with people unless people with cruel intentions get a hold of them. Perhaps you should enforce spaying and neutering laws and not worry so on banning pitbulls. Plenty of other dogs attack humans, but are never given media attention.
I support this petition. It's just plain ridiculous to ban the greatest breeds alive, Pit Bull and American Bulldog owner, all sweet as can be, no incidents with people or dogs ever.
I support this petition. I've responsibly shared over twenty years of my life with this nobel breed and I do not find the breed any more dangerous than a hamster...
I support this petition. I work at an animal hospital and the majority of the "attacks" we see (human or animal) is by small dogs OR animals that are PROVOKED. Pittbulls are NOT ferocious animals. It is the owner who trains the animal to be vicious. They are not born that way, nor are they prone to be vicious. I can't stress this issue enough, it's all on how you raise the animal.
I support this petition. Any animal can be a threat to the community if they are trained to do so. The owners who teach their pets to be nasty dogs should be the ones to get penalized, not the dogs.
I support this petition. I have raised pitbulls all my life and I have never seen any vicious pitbulls. I have two right now and I would never want to get rid of them.
I support this petition. I own two Pit Bulls and I do not agree with the state of Georgia in this matter. I believe that it should be my choice to own what ever kind of breed of dog that I want.
Are these people really that ignorant to try and punish an entire breed for what certain OWNERS train their dogs to do? Pitbulls are not viscous unless you train them to be!!
I support this petition.
This is America, where we're supposed to have the freedom of choice, we cant let miss guide goverment officals take away our rights.
I support this petition. Pitbulls are not the problem, it is the people that are mistreating them and fighting them that need to be taken care of. These are loving and careing animals that are being banned because noone will so the good in them. They only see what they want to. Not all pitbulls are aggressive and mean, I own two of the most loving pitbulls alive. It is the way you treat animals, if you treat one bad that is the reaction you are going to get back. But if you treat one with the love and affection they are supposed to get that is what you get in return. Noone ever sees that side though. Banned the one that need to be banned HUMANES not the innocent dogs they beat.
I support this petition. Human manipulation is the root of the problem House Bill 78 stands to eradicate. It should those humans that have to answer for this, not a whole breed of dogs. Its bad enough those bread into a life of hell have to deal with it, dont make the whole breed pay for human negligence.
The only people that will get to keep their pit bulls are people who as of July 1, 2005 owned their pit bull for at least 6 months. I got my pittie on July 10, 2005. He is the best dog and I will refuse to give him up!!
In a country where we are so concerned about racism, sexism, and every other ism, I cannot believe that this is actually being concidered. I cannot believe that elected officals, whom are assumed to be compitent when elected, could make such an incompitent proposal. I own an American Pitbull Terrier, and I would die before I got him neutered, and placed a muzzle on him. I think that any person who agrees that this proposal should become law needs to seriously concider checking into a mental hospital.
Assuming that the entire pit bull breed (genetic traits) is aggressive is like assuming that anyone who is unemployed is born lazy. Some pitbulls are aggressive and some people are lazy, but it is closed-minded and statistically incorrect to assume that the SOCIAL problem of animal abuse is caused by the dog itself.
The #1 cause of dog bites is the Cocker Spaniel. Chew on that.
We used to have a pit. She was so sweet and loved new people and other animals. It wasn't until a "friend" started playing rough with her and training her badly that she got out and attacked a small dog. If it wasn't for him she'd still be with us and sweet as ever.
I am a proud owner of three wonderful pit bull terriers. None of my dogs have ever shown aggression to people. If the government wants to really do something then try to keep the drug dealers and the criminals who train these dogs to be aggressive off the street. any dog that is treated like some of these dogs would be mean, and people would be too. I work at the Banfield the Pet Hospital of Morrow, and i have yet to see an aggressive pit come into work. We have to muzzle cocker spaniels, chihuahuas, shih tzus, pekinese, and other "so called acceptable dogs" daily. If pits should be banned for aggression then so should every dog breed that has ever attacked, bitten, or shown aggression. It is my constitutional right to own whatever dog I want. Why should me and my wonderful dogs suffer for something i have nothing to do with. I am sorry for the people who have gotten hurt by aggressive dogs, but why do parents let their children around so called aggressive animals anyway? I say we should check the irresposibility of people, and not an animal who knows nothing but what we show them.
