This is just another form of genocide that the government considers legal because they aren't like us people think about this if it were a Greek, French, Asian, Hispanic, or African American person they wouldn't punish all of that race they would only punish the ones who commited a crime if this bill is passed it will be a larger genocide then that of the Jewish Concetration Camps of WWII and no government officials would have any regrets!!!
I belive pitbulls are wonderful animals, and they shouldn't be punished for they're owners/breeders irresponsibility! They make wonderful companions and are some of the most loyale dogs I have ever come accross. Don't let the gov't pass another usless law that won't do anything to help the problem! Make the owners responsible!

It's funny..the most popular breed-The Lab..caused the first person to ever have to get a face transplant due to a vicious attack. The pit bull used to be the nations popular breed back when the Lil Rascals were the #1 hit show. .. and look what happened now. Now the pit bulls are the most hated. This is another sad example of how the media has destroyed the image of americas archetypical canine and how in response or goverment has sought to take away our right to own our breed of choice. Pit bulls have been part of society in america since the late 1800's when English settlers brought them here. We didn't have goverment officials trying to ban pitbulls from our country then.Why? Because we did'nt have a slanted media that needed to make up a story for the 5:00 news each day. There are dog attacks everyday in america wether it be from a poodle or a german sheperd. You dont hear about those stories because the media chooses to ignore them or even worse yet, they say it was a "pitbull like dog". All media talk aside, what do all dog attacks have in common? There was an irrisponsible owner who either A. left their dog loose,or B. failed to supervise their dog when neccesary. The press dosen't make headlines by saying "Pomerainian chews little boys hand". They make headlines by saying "Uncontrollable pitbulls attack and kill man!" It is this kind of reporting tha has tarnished the view of a wonderfull canine and struck fear into the hearts of people whenever they hear the term "pitbull". Fact, pitbulls were bred to have zero agresion towards humans and are espescially affectionate toward children when raised with them. Any pitbull that shows aggresion toward a human that did'nt provoke its owner was either abused or trained to be that way. The issue of breed specific legislation is similair to the issue of gun control. If you ban law abiding citizens from their right to bear arms the criminals will still have them and the good people will be unable to protect themselves. Same concept applies to B.S.L. i my self heve 3 staffys and i love the breed! one is 2 another is 1 and the newst one is 6mo. and there great. i dont see why people dont want them arownd i think is has a lot to do with people not knowing about the breed its self. they just here what they want to here and thats it. if people took the time to read up, spend some time, and learn about the breed its self i think there would be a lot of poeple that would stand up your the breeds. the funny thing is you dont see any pitbull onwners trying to ban other breed. and i think its cuz when you find the pet your most happy with and that fits your life the best you dont need to make other people unhappy by saying your dog is bad and my dog is good. but like i said i love the breed and have lerand a lot about the breed and every every dog cat andything you spend time with it is going to take after you. so dont hate the dog hate the people that make them out to be bad. cuz i know that they dont come that way and any pitbull owner will say the same.
I myself have just aquired a pitbull of pure blood from a breeder in chicago. My pitbull is the sweetest dog i have ever met, and i myself was never a dog person till i met her. I have bin bitten by many dogs which most likely is what lead to my dislike for dogs...and i dont like any other dog except my own. My dong would sooner lick you to death then bite you, blame the handelers of the animal not the animal. We are the ones responsible for there training and actions.

It seems to be within the nature of the political animal to jerk its knee in response to an issue rather than apply some reasoned thought that may actually reflect mature judgement. HB 78 is a fine example of less than mature judgement. I wonder how the late Senator Vest (read his moving "Tribute to a Dog"), or President Theodore Roosevelt, who prized this breed above all others, would have reacted to this breed-specific hysteria?

I serve this country overseas, where I adopted an abandoned pit bull left suffer and die on a roadside. It has been the most wonderful dog I have owned. Gentle, loving, and far from menacing, she is a joy in my life. Deal with the underlying issues, gentlemen of the the Georgia legislature, and let reason and balanced judgement ultimately prevail.
What a person gets out of a Pit Bull is a direct result of what they put into them. They are not a dog for lax households or uninterested owners, but they are not the devil either. The dangerous dog issue is ages-old, and not limited to one breed. If the APBT is banned, what's to stop the really dangerous people from getting any other breed that they want?
This is crazy! Bit bulls are wonderful pets. I love them and see no problem with owning one. Yes they may have a mind of their own but it's all in how they are raised, and that goes for any animal!

Why don't you try enforcing the laws you already have in place? That would certainly be a nice step. Instead, you're trying to take the easy way out. It is truly despicable!

The people that are presently causing these problems won't stop if you ban their breed. They'll just go on to the next breed they see in a video. What will you do? Ban that breed too? Keep on banning them until you children's labrador is outlawed? How about approving some funds to enforce the laws that ALREADY EXIST?

I rescue them tied to fences with extension cords, I see their poor ears mutilated with home scissors, broken ears, lots of hereditary/demodex mange...I cry when I find them great homes...it takes sometimes 2 years! pups growing up at my house! STOP Breed Specific Legislation. Killing off a breed to stop a few bad apples is horrible. If we did that with humans, it would be called RACISM! STOP IT PLEASE!

Go after Puppy Mills and a lot of your problem may be solved. Compare how many Pit Bulls are in this nation compared to other breeds... there is your answer on why we hear so much about them. Why would we want to ban a dog. A dog does not reason like that of a human. A dog only wish is to please its owner. I f that owner wish the dog to mean the dog will be mean. It is not the true nature of these breeds to be mean they are truly human friendly. To put a ban on these dogs is too say that we were wrong when we put medels on stubby during WWI, we wre wrong to idolize petey on the Little rascles. We the American people were wrong to use this breed of dog to symbolize the strenght and courage of our people on war posters. Were we wrong or are you wrong now to ban a breed of dog and not put the deed of its owner in judgement instead. Please judge not the dog but rather the owner of the dog.
