It is unfair to profile or ban the pit bull , when they only makeup a small percent of dog bites. any dog can bite or be aggressive if raised wrong or trained to do so. its not the dogs fault its the irresponsible owners

I don't agree with the ban because I lown a pit bull terrier and my dog is not agressive. He gets along with other dogs and children. I think that ban is outrageous and the owner should be held accountable for their pets actions as so a paret for their childrens actions. If you discriminate against pit bulls you might as well discriminate against certain races (which is ridiculous). Discrimination is discrimination. How would you feel if you were a pit bull?
This is unfair to ban one breed for the action of a deed by a few-responsible dog ownership and care is the fault for this by people, not the dogs-people are the ones who are causing this problem.
This bill is absurd, it's like throwing the baby out with the bathwater! There are other, better ways to eliminate dog fighting in Georgia than by discriminating against caring pet owners and innocent animals. Why not put all this excess bill-writing energy into toughening the laws against dog-fighting and stiffening penalties for those who commit this atrocious crime against these poor abused animals?!

I have own pitbulls for ever, and I fell they are the best dog I could ever own. It is how you raise them, mine have never hurt anything! I do know the people who fght them are so very wrong for even fighting a dog that is such a good family dog!!!!!!!!!
Banning a breed of dog because people are ignorant is unfair to the animal and to the responsible owners of pits around the WORLD. Perhaps having harsher sentences against people who abuse and misuse these animals would help, not banning the animal itself. People like Michael Vic should be punished to the FULL EXTENT of the law. I have a wonderful American Pit Bull Terrier that I adopted from the SPCA. He's just a great dog that needed a good home. He's great with kids, adults and dogs of all sizes. I've considered moving from Dallas to Atlanta to be close to family, but I won't move to a bigotted state that punishes an entire breed and responsible owners just because there are some irresponsible owners out there. Your genocide will only cause bad owners to switch to other breeds. Many other breeds are more capable of harm than pit bulls (although media portrays this differently). I own an APBT and she is just perfect. These dogs aren't a danger to society--some of their twisted owners are! Let us lock them up--it's not the breeds fault certain people train these dogs to attack and kill.
i have a pitbull, and she's very sweet, and if you dont care for them right, thats when they are mean, but ppl, dont think that they're very visous, i had 5 pitbulls in the past, one of them bit me really hard, but thats cuz his owner treated him wrong, but i never gave up on him.
Once again ... it is not the dog, but us ... people must take responsibility for their actions. We should also consider a more educated approach ... spay and neuter all dogs and cats ... and make breeding very restrict.
i have many pit and they are gentle and loving, the best dogs for our kids i'v ever owned, they have even protected our grandchildren from other dogs and strangers, i have owned many, many others dogs but these pits are the best and loyal!
I've had my dog since he was a baby. You get attached to them like they are your own children. Our dog is trained and very friendly. All pit bulls are not bad!
This is completely wrong. Not only are you trying to wrongly punish an animal for it's owners actions... You're trying to punish any and every animal that even resembles it? BSL is the epitomy of irresponsible legislating. There are better issues to waste tax dollars on. PLEASE reconsider! APBTs and their cousin breeds are among the most naturally human-affectionate dogs in the world. The same breeding practices that made them (sadly) good fighters, made them amazing household pets. Even to this day though, canine aggression must be both strictly (purposely and wrongly) bred in, THEN be strictly taught to these dogs... It does NOT just occur naturally. Punish the people found mistreating these animals, not the animals. My dog is a pure bred, un-neutered, APBT, and if you met him, you'd seriously laugh at the thought of this legislation. Also, leash laws are fine and should be strictly enforced, but needlessly muzzling a dog just because of it's breed is stupid. Seeing a perfectly well behaved dog with a muzzle on only makes a well behaved dog LOOK like it MUST be a viscious dog. That's not fair in the least. PLEASE don't set a standard for uneducated others to follow. Please reconsider. Please do NOT pass these laws.
This is absolutely ridiculous. What can I say that hasn't been said? Dogs of every breed can bite; require mandatory licensing and obedience training for all owners. Enforce leash laws, enforce LICENSINCE, which means there is record of VACCINATION, and the owner is forced to properly take care of, and take responsibility of their dog(s). I started a petition in Massachusetts, and as of today I have over 3370 signatures that are AGAINST PIT BLL BAN, and BREED SPECIFIC LEGISLATION!! This petition will have thousands of signatures too. Breed bans don't work, there is no fewer dog attacks in Denver since their ban. Review American Temperament Test Society BREED data if you want to single out breeds www.atts.org...P.S.. There is no way you can tell people what dog they can or can not have, they will do what they want.

I'm a proud roommate of a APBT in Massachusetts where they're trying to pass a ban also! How about putting a little effort into finding a solution for bad owners and leave us good owners alone! Pitbulls are good dogs, best friends even! A bad rep is no reason to ban this beautiful breed!! What about all the other dogs that have bit or hurt somone or something?! You gonna do away with them too??
this ban is rediculous. Baning the breed will not do a single thing to deccrease dog attacks. Banning the breed will only affect responsible, law abiding dog owners. I myself will not live anywhere near a place that places restrictions on what breed I can own, It infringes on my rights as an american and I will not let that stand.
