Pitbulls are the all american dog or have people forgot? this is a free country no politician should be able to control what kind of dog a person can own this is ridiculous!
I have a pitbull myself, she has never once bite me, or anyone else. I go to the dog park once a week and everyone there know's her because shes so nice. She listens on command, she has never gotte into a fight, ( whereas the other dogs; labs, boxers, German Shepard, are MORE aggresive then the pitbulls there. Why? BECAUSE ITS THE OWNERS! NOT THE BREED! If you hit a child all his life, guess what? Hes gonna beat on his wife/girlfriend/children. If you treat a dog bad, hes gonna grow up and be that way. Its common sense, PUNSIH THE DEED! NOT THE BREAD!!
i think pitbulls should not be banned, if any the pople are responsable how they raise their pets. If these dogs are raise with love, care and respect they should be fine, not raise them to be killers, or aggressive
Me and my wife own a 5 Year old pittbull, I don't feel it is your right to tell me what i have to do for my pet. I think there should be strickter laws againest all these people who fight breed for fighting or just mis-use of this great breed. We would support a system monitoring Breeders, And people thaught to be fighting or abusing but to put a restriction on every owner like us who don't abuse or mistreat is wrong on so many diffrent levels. To help a breed that already is pertrayed badly by telivistion and by media and now by goverment is feeding that fear of a few bad people....I am a firm believe to punish the owner not the Breed
Dogs do as they are trained (or not trained, as the case may be). Any animal has the potential to cause harm, banning a particular breed is not the answer.
I have three beautiful Pitbulls that are my babies. These people need to start looking in our past and the good that Pit Bulls have brought to this world.
I am against this ban. I have been around many pit bulls that are the most loving dogs I have seen. I have also been around smaller dogs that wont think twice before biting someone. Its not the dogs, but the people that handle them. Don't let the dogs suffer from the way their owners raised them. They are the ones at fault.
people who approach a dog that has a bad rep will already have fear and send that signal to the animal causing it to feel defensive. Second of all, people need to teach their children about aggravating dogs and approaching them. Dogs will be dogs by nature no matter what the breed!
oh my god kill all the pit bulls they are evil!!! anybody who says this has never had one. ive had a lot of dogs but my pitbull is absoulty the sweetest dog i have ever had hands down. people kill people but that dosent mean that some babies are born killers, its how they are raised is how theyll act when they are older. and nobody is taking my dog away. i dont care who its is they will have to kill me first!!
I am a pit bull owner and my dogs are the most loving and kind creatures out there. They do no harm to anyone or anything. If they want to arrest those who fight their dogs, then so be it, but don't ruin it for the rest of us.
My daughter owns apit terrier and she is as gentle as a lamb.She is not an aggressive animal and she loves my 2 year old grandson and my 9 month old granddaughter.
From personal experience, I meet TONS of pits at out local county shelter and they are ALL SO SWEET! They are big lap dogs who are more affectionate than other breeds. Because of that I am pretty much only into pitbulls. They are very sensitive and loyal. They are good with kids, very protective of kids, and can be good with other pets. Pitbulls go to dog parks and are fine.
As a 20 year veteran in ownership of American Pit Bull Terriers, a supporter of the bill of rights and a believer that owners of ANY breed of dog that becomes an issue shoudl be held accountable for that individual action. I support this petition against BSL in GA. Sheree KellyBrunswick GA

No breed of dog should be banned. The AKC is against Breed Specific Legislation. There is no way this law should be passed. Each decade a different breed is focused on as being dangerous. The facts do not show that any particular breed is any more dangerous than the other. It is how the dog is treated, what it learns from its owners, etc, etc. If this was a race of people you wouldn't even think of doing this, so why are you discriminating against dogs. Take a look at the National Canine Research Council website and you will see the facts!
We should not ban pitbulls. There are people out here that will love and really take care of these dogs. There are people that are actually against dog fighting. I love pitbull breeds and I want to own one. I DON'T believe in fighting dogs. Dogs are like children in a sense. They are how you raise them. You all should start blaming the owners and not the dog.
I do not support a pitbull ban in Georgia. This ban would not only affect the American Staffordshire Terriers, but the pitbull mixes, as well as the Georgia bulldog itself. I have two rescue pitbulls and they are the most loving dogs possible. Why doesn't someone stand up to the criminals who are abusing and fighting these dogs and put them in jail! I will not let anyone take my right to own a pitbull away from me, and blessed be the soul that tried to take my dogs. These are my dogs - my babies.

It is not the breed of animal it is the person or persons raising that animal to be mean lets ban them, not the animals that suffer because of their actions.
I think this whole thing is a bunch of bull and that people need to get a life and lay off poor helpless animals... It's idiots like Michael Vick who give theses sweet animals a bad name. I've met many pittbulls in my life and not once have I come across a violent one.. This whole thing just needs to come to an end and people need to just go shoot themselves.
I think breed specific laws are ridiculous! I own a 3-year-old pit bull and he is loving.. it's all in how we raised him -- and anyone who meets him will agree and has agreed. Those who take on any breed dog should be willing to spend time and raise them right. Punish the irresponsible owners! Not the breed! ASPCA agrees that breed specific laws are useless. Rather make it a viscous dog law, any dog can be viscous if not cared for correctly. Do whats right! Banning pit bulls is not the answer! Caser Millan agrees! So many righteous pit bull lovers are hurt and are suffering because of idiot owners. Don't make Georgia suffer! Ban the irresponsible owners and viscous dogs! Not the loveable, responsible ones!
I believe Pitt Bulls are nice freindly dogs!! They cannot make their own decisions it is based on the owner and how they are raised!! If a dog is raised to kill someone then that is what it is gonna do!! Just like training a baby to say bad words and do bad things! The parents or owners bring it on them selves not the dogs!!!
Pit bulls are not bad dogs...When they are raised right. the owners of these dogs have to make a stand against this. if we could stop the fighting of these dogs then we would not have this problem. you cant punish and innocent dog for and ignorant persons actions.
I own an Am Staff, he is the sweetest, most gentle dog EVER!!! And, I'll be damned if you tell me my innocent dog has to be muzzled when we go to the park or wherever!! I will move out of this sate that I was BORN
i Have 5 pits they are wonderful dogs my dogs all are chained up and in pens because of on set of neighbors, The rest of my neighbers children come down to my house to play with my son and nephew and the dogs because of one person now they are restricted to chains and kennels inside a fenced yard. This is not right go after the people who make them mean not the ones who care and baby them.Fighting NO! Family YES!
i think its not the dogs you should ban but the ass holes that treat these helpless creatures like trash and abuse then to the point that they are a dangerious animal

Here in the south there is a person who has'nt even gone to trial yet for killing at least 5 people one of whom was a judge like 2 yrs ago. He hasn't even been to trial yet, dont worry about what my dogs are going to do put some effort into what he or people like
I do not own a dog nor do I plan on owning a pitbull, but to ban the breed because of people's own stupidity is outrageous. Owners should be held responsible and not the breed.
