Hope everything works out. Its' ashame that they would even think about doing this. They should prosecute the owners of the dogs rather than the breed.
This country is becoming a terrible place to live. The government is trying to take away our rights to own certain breeds of dogs. APBT's will not be the last breed to be banned. It will come down to everydog that can pose a threat to bite, which would be all dogs. A dangerous dog law that is non breed specific is a better choice and it works much better. Our freedom to own pets is being taken away and our freedom to live will be next.
We are in charge of everything our animals do, where they eat, sleep, play, use the restroom and especially raising them to be loving family dogs or vicious fighting dogs. Do you really think that banning a loving family pet will stop dog attacks and dog fighting?
If whoever does this cant get their hands on a pit they would just start using other breeds that would put up a good fight.

Please don't ban my dog. Ban BAD owners instead. I don't know what I'd do without them,they're not dangerous,thier loyal companions if raised in right positive ways.
Bad is not the animal, but the person that educates it. My son has many Pitbull in his house and he had it for over 12 years and never had a incident with it
Banning a breed of dog is just as useless as it is impossible to enforce. It is truly a sad day in America when the government steps in and tells us what kind of dog we can have-be it lap dog or guardian of our family. This is a law born of irrational fear and not common sence.
Breed discrimination is just as bad as racial discrimination. I volunteer at a shelter where there are several pit bulls and they are ALL loving and sweet dogs. People make dogs unpredictable and dangerous, they aren't born that way. ANY dog must be properly socialized and trained. Create legislation against people that are irresponsible, not against a whole breed. Take the time to meet and get to know this wonderful breed, then introduce responsible legislation against irresponsible dog owners.
My pit (when she was still alive) had a beter knowledge and feelings than alot of the people I know. Ignorant people shouldnt breed leave the dogs alone!!! PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED!!
pitbulls are loyal loving dogs like anyother its when they get into the wrong hands just like other breeds such as german shepherds which are bred to attack rottweilers which are bred to attack and dobermans which are bred to attack and pitbulls which are bred to hunt. other dogs pose a high risk that pitbulls, maybe you should look into it
We have and still owned several of APBT. Our Rottweilers have been way more assertive than any othe the Pit Bulls in our yard and others yards and kennels we visit and know.
PLease take action against those who commit illegal actions with dogs. Don't ban a breed for the mistakes of others. These dogs are really wonderful creatures.
I vote no on banning pit bull, because we have the right to own pitbull as any other breed, dont panish the breed punish the deed, irresible owners should go to classes how to treat and learn from their animals because one day it will saved a life and it might be you! THEN YOU WILL THINK TWICE OF THIS WONDERFUL BREED THAT WILLINGLY AND WANT TO PLEASE IT OWNERS ANY POSSIBLE WAY! IT WANT TO SHOW LOVE AND OBEDIENCES.
Breed Specific Laws just prove how ignorant people truly are. The American Pit Bull Terrier and it's relatives are one of the best breeds around. They have so much love and loyalty to give. Educate yourself on the breed and the positive aspects of these dogs before act hastily. Yes, there have been terrible incidents that have occurred, but unfortunately they happen with all breeds of dogs. This is due to irresponsible breeders and owners. Don't punish the poor animal and the responsible, caring and compassionate owners. Make stricter laws to regulate the irresponsible people who have done so much damage to this breed. In my opinion this is just another example of racism -only in the canine form.
I know pitbulls to be a smart and family oriented breed, if raised the right way. These dogs are misunderstood just like snakes and sharks. People here the word "pitbull" , and head for the hills. That's a shame!!
Maybe they should pass a bill for strictor sentensing for those people that chainm starve, beat, isolate and antagonize those animals to make them dangerous. The people are more dangerous than the animals, if they will do that do thier dog, what will they do to a person?
The owners should be punished, not the dog.
Banning one particular breed of dog is not going to greatly reduce the number of mauling cases...those people who encourage aggressiveness in their pets will just switch to a different breed. Stop these idiots from owning a dog, but please don't ban the dogs themselves.

It is a violation of my constitutional rights for legislation to dictate what breed of pet I am able to own. Punish the Deed not the Breed, hold those individuals accountable who personally punishing our breed through illegal activities etc.
I can't believe that in a state so concerned about freedom in other areas would even consider a Draconian law like this. Why blame the breed? It is irresponsible and abusive breeders and owners.
Irresponsibe owners should be made to take responsability of their pets actions. Banning any specific breed does not solve the problem. Irresponsable owners can be owners of any breed weather it be pit, dobie, rottie, mastiff, cocker, etc....that can be misshandled and cause harm. Banning is NOT the answer
This is a human problem. Enacting a law to ban a particular breed is not the answer. I agree with the statement - "Banning The Breed Does Not Stop The Deed". Do not allow Breed Discrimination in Georgia. This law will only effect all of the wonderful loving APBT pet companions and responsible owners. This will not stop the owners that are keeping these dogs illegally for fighting - the poor animals that are being abuse, taught aggression , have never seen a vet, is not legally licensed, and the owners do not have any breeding certifications. I support stricter laws to protect all animals from irresponsible owners.
