Another high profile waste of taxpayer dollars. Don't you gentlemen and ladies of the legislature have better things to do (like improving education, healthcare access and costs, job opportunities, and the environment)?
I have just found a small pit puppy who was more dead than alive due to the treatment by his owners. I have had many rescue dogs and this is the sweetkindest puppy even in his horrible condition. You coould take this dogs bone away from him and he would lick your hand. He doesn't like other dogs but I have had shepards, chows and other breeds who didn't like other dogs as much or more. To humans this dog is a wonderful companion.
Please, punish the owners with a severe enough penalty so they will not abuse the dogs. Many other breeds are just as aggresive if treated badly.
Are you kidding? Don't you have anyting better to do? Like maybe limiting amounts of malpractice for severly injured individuals so the insurance companies can make more money?
I got a idea how about starting with Banning the people with Felonies, Drug charges and Gang Bangers from owning the Breed first and see how much of a difference it makes.Dont stop the people who responsibly own them from owning them. I have several Pit Bulls seeing how i own a kennel and there aint one person who pet a dog of mine and my kids have grown up with Pit Bulls and not a problem yet in 15 years.
Guns Kill over 1000 people a year in the U.S. and they are a right. So why are you so worried about a dog? If you can't be responsable with a dog you shouldn't be able to own a gun either. Now how does that make the all mighty U.S.A. look?
If these breeds are allowed to be ban, then the irresponsible owners will just change to another breed. What would be next, the boxer, the German Shepherd, the Doberman, or lord forbid the Golden Retriever. Don't blame the breed, blame the irresponsible owner. All dogs that are accused of being "Pitbulls" are not such.
it is wrong to try and ban this breed of dogs. it's not the breed but the irresponsible owner of some of these dog. don't forget that petey on the little rascals was a pit bull and he was around all those kids
I have three dogs of different breeds and my pitbull is the sweetest and best dog of the three. She is great with children, dogs, cats and any other animals she comes in contact with.
The problem is not the dog as they are good natured but are forced to be mean by cruel and irresponsible owners.
I would much rather support the banning of people who breed their dogs to be mean and viscious as any dog can be made that way with enought abuse and cruelty.
The people who are problematic owners of this breed don't obey laws in the first place. You're barking up the wrong tree. Knee-jerk legislation does not solve the problem of irresponsible and exploitive ownerhsip.
People with ideas like this are more dangerous than the dogs. You can't ban everything that's dangerous for you, what's next ban a certain human race because some of them are dangerous??
This is just the easiest way of trying to solve there problem. They don't want to put energy in finding a good sollution for things that are not of there interest. They better think of a way, to take action against the bad owners.
A proud owner of a english staffordshire bull terrier.
You need to ban the people that got nothin to do better than ban inocent dogs and most likely dont own a dog.ban what you see in the mirror. wish i lives next door to you mdf.
FUCK ALL BULLTERRIERS.
THEY ARE PIECES OF SHIT AND YOU HAVE TO SHOOT THEM AND THEIR OWNERS UNTIL THEY BLEED FROM THIER PUSSIES BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN RAPED AND KILLED, THESEKSUCKERS
don't pass the buck onto the animal. look in the mirror and you will see where the root of the problen is. it is man that has created this problem, not the breed. what's next ban all people of a certain race becuase of what a few of them did? this bsl crap is basically racism. you don't cut down a good tree just for a few bad apples!
This is just the beginning of the government taking away our rights as citizens, little by little. We need to open our eyes and stand up for what we believe in.
In Holland is a breed banned of Pitbulls( cry)
The goverment must also look to good Pitbull owners , who loves their dogs, en must punish the people who abuse the Pitbull, for wrongs things.
You can`t blame the dogs, MEN ARE THE BEAST< NOT THE DOGS.
I hope, this beatiful breed has no breedbanned in de U.S.A.
The CDC determined that a chained dog is 2.8 times more likely to bite than an unchained dog. Unaltered animals are three times as likely to bite as altered animals. This goes for all breeds.
Breed specific legislation has not reduce dog bites in other places where they have been enacted, and they will not reduce dog bites in Georgia. Far more effective would be stricter enforcement of existing laws concerning inhumane treatment: chaining, neglect and careless breeding. Any dog can become dangerous if abused and neglected by an irresponsible owner.
