My 1/2 pit& 1/2 english bull dog was one of the best pets I have had. His name was Magnum. I do not support this act. People just need to be punished who use them for profit. The problem is with the way these dogs are raised. Owners that raise them to fit should not have any pet. Thats cruel for the animals. Phyllis
My Pit Bull will not even bite another dog much less harm a person. She is a sweet and loving dog and I think that banning a specific breed of dog is ridiculous!!!
Pit Bulls are by far the most beautiful, loving, loyal and intelligent dogs. It the owners that train their Pitties to be aggressive, attack dogs that need to be put down, locked away and muzzled!
I think is complete discrimination!! It is not right to punish an entire breed for the actions of few! Those of us who have and love pitbulls know the true nature of the animal!
What about enforcing animal cruelty laws or creating a required training course for Pit Bull owners? It is just rediculous to punish an entire breed of animals because of the lack of education and ignorance on the owners' part. Rapists, and murderers are a threat to society, why are they allowed to live? This is crazy!!!
We should not be banning the dog, we should ban the fighting rings in our state. Here in thomasville, i have reported on 2 different occasions, dog fighting. I called the police and nothing was done about it. i called the local human society and nothing was done about it. Three days after the first incident, at the same location, i saw the fighting again, and reported it still nothing. it is not the dogs faults it is the owners faults. When my husband first wanted a pit bull, I was a little skeptical. But, our pit has the best temperement of any dog I've ever seen! It's all in how you raise them. Please don't do this to this breed of dogs. Please. They are wonderful dogs!
I own a full-bred ADBA red-nose, and my wife and I both agree that he is the best dog we've ever owned. He's been attacked by many other dogs and never retaliated!
Our children's pet pit bull is extremely friendly. Very well mannered;very well trained; very likable. I can think of many other puppies and dogs I would prefer to see Muzzled.
Pitbulls are like any other dog, their personally is developed according to how they are raised. I had a beautiful pitbull for 8 years and she was sweet, loyal, and good with everybody because she was raised in a loving environment!
ive been bitten by a german shepard, a laborder and sharpei i have my pit bull for 4 years and leave him loose with my 3 yearld old daughter and ive never been happier... DNT BLAME THE BREEDS STAMINA, AGILITY,POWER. PLEASE BLAME THE OWNERS WHO ABUSE THE BREEDS STAMINA AND AGILITY.
I worked in a vet's office for 5 years. A matter of fact, my ex-boss and very great friend is now a state represenative for southease GA, Maddox. This is just a bunch of crap, and i feel that it is just a ways to take another thing away from families in GA today. This dogs are just like all other dog. They will become mean only if you make them this way. This goes for any breed, and I am sure Dr. Maddox will feel the same way!
This is an outrage. I can not believe such nonsense. Every bull dog i have had has been the best dog ever. It's all how the owner raises them. Any dog can be mean if the owner mistreats it or tries to make it mean it is not just pit bulls. Like i said every bull dog i have had has been the most sweet and loving dog. So don't go and blame it on the breed, blame it on the owners.
My APBT is the most intelligent and kindest dog I've ever had. Ban those German Shepards if you're looking to eliminate something vicious! APBT's are the greatest dogs ever! As if there aren't any other more important problems to deal with, sheesh! Prioritize people!!
This is outrageous. Our APBT is a member of the family, not a monster, and should not be treated like one! Responsible ownership is the key, not hate and discrimination against the breed.
This is not supposed to be a communist country! One of the first commandments says, DO NOT KILL!!!It did not say do not kill unless you decide differently. This is suppsed to be a God loving state. Christians should know better than to take things in their own hands. GOD does not give them this right or anyone else!GOD created ALL LIVING THINGS!!!
Banning Pit Bulls is not the answer, it is time to start looking at the owners, and making sure that all dogs go to responsible owners, not just Pit Bulls, I have friends that are so responsible with their pit bulls and then I know people that could care less about their German Shepards, don't ban the breed it is not the answer!!!Take the time to educate yourself about this precious breed before doing something stupid!!!
This is just rediculus! You know, I was bitten by a pomeranian, and had to have shots because of it, I think we should have a ban against them, they are more viscous than a pit bull!
Fysical showings should not be seen as an indication of agression. if they see it like that than would every well trained olympic atlete be a well trainedt musscled fighting machine..!

This is outrageous!!!! As a proud owner of a pit bull I think this is the most stupid thing I have ever heard of.... There are dogs out there that are not pits that are mean and aggressive and to just label one breed of dog as being vicious is very dumb on your part. Just last year my husband was attacked by a golden retriever and you don't see anyone trying to band that breed do you????? NO!!!! But I guarantee you if it was a pit then it would have been put to sleep... Why??? Because of the sterotype that people have in their minds about pits. It's not all pits that are mean and aggressive. It's all in how you raise your dog to be. There are stupid people out there that do raise them to fight but it's not the animals fault...it's the people. But then there are those of us who just want them as family pets and we are going to be punished for this???? I don't think so.... Please reconsider this??? How would you feel if there was a ban on your family pet?????
Even if you ban this breed those irresponsible and down-right cruel dog owners will find another breed to take it's place. More should be done to prevent owners from using them for fighting, it isn't the dog's fault - they are being abused and we should help them not hurt them further. Maybe we should let the owners fight each other instead. While you're at it you better start banning gamecocks.
I think everyone trying to ban the breed should atleast own and be in contact with some of the wonderful Pits there are out in the world before they're so strongly against something they know nothing about. I don't understand how someone could hate the breed and know nothing at all about the breed, because if they knew anything about this breed they wouldn't be so strongly against it. Please do your research before you try to ban this breed. I have owned Pit Bulls for the last 4 years and I will never own anything less. My dogs are around children and other dogs and are completely fine. Instead of going after the dog itself you need to be going after the people who teach these dogs to be aggressive. They're not born aggressive, they're taught to be aggressive and the people teaching them to be aggressive are the ones who need to pay the price, not the people who are out there trying to better the breed and love the breed so passionately. I think I've said my piece. Please consider everything I've said.
