I've been waiting for this for years... please make my dream come true. (And if possible, add the Cyndi Lauper songs to the disc, if rights can be obtained... I'll pay extra for the soundtrack to be *complete*!)
If anybody can do it right, Varese can. Or Intrada, I suppose, but you guys have had a bit of a Grusin streak lately, and I think score fans would rather have this than Lucas.
Yes please, release it!!! How about a compilation (or even better, individual releases) of Grusin's classic TV music for It Takes A Thief, and The Name Of The Game too!? And while we're about it, a (complete) CD release of John Barry's Hanover Street score would make a huge number of people very happy.
There is very little of Grusin's scores available on CD, and vinyl for that matter, and so it would be a welcome addition. Varese have released some some Grusin scores lately and would do well to release this.
Music makes a movie come alive and that is exactly what the Dave Grusin Film Score did for "The Goonies". Please release this wonderful music for our listening pleasure.
Hi folks, I really do appreciate the fine work you do at Varese Sarabande. And indeed the score to "The Goonies" has become one of my holy grails of filmmusic over the past 20 years. After seeing last years release of another of my personal "grails", the score to "Ghostbusters", it started to believe that maybe another "livelong" search may come to an end for me soon. As I refuse to buy any unlicensed bootleg stuff it seems I have to rely on you to end my search. So, yes, even here in Germany, not only I would love to see the release of an official full score to "The Goonies". Please consider to do so soon. Thanks. Dirk
It's a shame Mr. Grusin's score for The Goonies has been neglected for 22 years. It's a fan (and widely commercial) favorite, that is worthy of standing beside Back to the Future and Ghostbusters as classics. It's unfortunate that the above titles shared the same fate within the pop dominated music era. The heart of the problem is that Warner Brothers doesn't care about anything outside of profit. Sadly, this score (like many other classics in the Warner vaults with lay unheard by those who would truly appreciate them. Let's get it done! It worked for Ghostbusters. Let's show the studios what we REALLY want!!! After all, they will be happy to get us off their backs.
There are alot of people that have been waiting to own a genuine copy of the Goonies soundtrack. It is about time to own something other than a bootleg copy!
It's time that this masterpiece of Score music was released onto CD for all the fans to enjoy. And hopefully it can be done in its full, complete splendor. This music is too beautiful to allow to go to waste.

Dave Grusin's seminal score for 'The Goonies' has been my favorite for over 20 years. A prolific label like Varèse Sarabande could probably make a release happen if they wanted to, so Mr. Robert Townson: Would you please consider releasing this amazing score?
