I think Green Day is becoming a sell out band... their old songs were also way better than their new ones are... dont doubt me, I still like them... their just kind of getting "in" so their not that great...

Green Day totally sold out. Seriously their earlier stuff was pretty good. They think they\'re all hardcore and punk with their eyeliner, and crap. they\'re not hardcore or punk, They\'re freaking wannabes, who are only interested in monetary gains. They\'re not real punk.

for the record its not to put down the band its not to hate them because they became popular its that they compromised their own principals for a few extra bucks.. they were the kids who said f*** the man ill sing bout wat i love, now its seems as if they are tryin to grab more fans by becoming political punk when for some many years they said f*** politics lets jus be happy.. the sell out is giving up their true essense of lets jus be happy to let appeal to the emo and political kids...they are not doin wat they love but wat the crowd loves..they say they did it for themsleves but are doin things to appease the crowd in attempts to stay on top...hell u had a good run dont ruin in by lookin pathetic

Green Day started to go down hill since 1994, what bothers me more then them selling out is that they threw their old sound away, when they made Dookie we heard something different then what we&amp;amp;#039;ve heard from years past, they just threw away all the work theyve done in previous years with the 1000 Hours, Slappy 39/Smoth and Kerplunk. But with American Idiot they just crossed the line it was like adding insult to injury for all the fans they left behind in the early 1990&amp;amp;#039;s. Also do you think we want to hear middle aged men sining about how much George W. Bush sucks?

green day has sold out. selling out doesn't really have to do with their genre change but more with their increasing demand of money. check their website and the once free update that billie or tre or mike would post through voicemail is gone and now you have to pay to get any news practically or contact with what green day is doing. i used to love green day because they were so into their fans but now they only want money. its like twenty dollars to even know what the band is up to. a rip off. i thought american idiot was a good album, smart and different. but the way they are grabing all the money they can makes me not want to support them at all...

Green Day had meaning in their music up until American Idiot but it has now disapeared and been replaced with eye liner and billie joe becoming skinny.People say American Idiot is the band's return to punk but thats a load of bollocks because all they did was make songs about suicide and depression just to win over all the the punk and gothic try hards who reckon simple plan and good charlotte are hardcore.Green Day used to be bloody awesome but now they're just as lame as the other punk try hards.The Clash are still the only band that really matter!

Just for jordan- i think on one of the i hate greenday pages it says in the billie joe quotes section read this; "I cant believe anyone buys our albums" i dont know if the quote is true but I certainly think it is because there is only a few there if you read them, i think its markuses page. um oliva greenday haven't just gotten popular i can name off an album that sold way more than american idiot DOOKIE that album sold diamond 10 million in the u.s I think greenday should go back to what they were good at punk music. i think they more than likely had to sell out when making american idiot, laughs. ramones is like the easiest music to play, the musicians practically sucked. clash is just way better, rolling stones aint connected to punk and sex pistols well.. anarchy uk ehh meh kind of indifferent good reference is the movie slc punk and you'll know what i mean if you ever watch it
