OOTP made the most because other than DH it's the most popular book in the series. Because it's so well liked more people went to see it in the big theaters rather than waiting for it to go to the $2 movies and DVD.
I find it completely ridiculous to dissapoint fans just to make a bit extra money towards a franchise that's already making billions.
All this is going to do is make people angry.
I am outraged at this news. I have never been more dissapointed at the people behind the Harry Potter movies. I refuse to see this movie in theatres. You move it just so you can make more money - pathetic. As a huge fan of the entire series i am outraged.
This is just ridiculus.
You can't release a teaser trailer + a website and then just say "oh never mind, we're gonna wait 9 monthss cause we wanna make some more money" wtf. greedy WB.
I support this petition. This is a greedy move that was not thought through. Sure the last summer Harry Potter film was released in July and made a ton of money. But what drove people to see the film? The anticipation for the final installment of the series. Two years with no Harry Potter is not how you grow a fanbase.
I support this petition! This is obnoxious. We already have to wait a year and a half between movies - why make it two? If the trailers are out, then the movie should go as planned.

And you know what, were not going to take this junk from you. How could you think in your right mind and delay the release date by 11months when you have already made a trailer in from on many best selling movies like dark knight with a release date of Nov. 21. All you want is money, money, money and more money. Just as many people will come in November as they would in July. Yous all at WB just want another hit like Dark Knight. Well, its not goiing to happen the way you've made the release date so much later, and how you've confused many people as well. THE FAN ARE NOT HAPPY! I would just like to say that the more intelligent of the HP fandom is not ignorant in this postponing. If the reasoning for this postponement were actually due to "writers strike" and "better blowouts" this would have been decided a long time ago.
I for one, am not stupid. WB is doing this simply because they're a little hard pressed for the hype that's suddenly surrounding Twilight, and they don't want the horror HP plummeting at the BO because Twilight comes out two weeks later, and it is, in fact, the new HP.
Twilight has a large fanbase, and to be honest, a lot of real HP fans did NOT want David Yates directing HP&HBP anyway.
SO they say, "lets just change it to next summer when Twilight has died down, and then we'll own the box office like we originally planned."
That is lame. Saying that HP produces more success as a summer movie is also bogus; only one HP movie has even come OUT during the summer, and it didn't fair off any better than the other FIVE that came out around their original time frame (Nov-Dec.)
Thank you, WB, for becoming just another corporate company that's bent on bucks, rather than what really matters.
By the way, nobody cares about a summer difference anyway.
I think this is a ridiculously lame attempt at money-grubbing from one of the most profitable movie companies. It's unprofessional and selfish, and you are alienating the fanbase.
I support this petition. I will not pay to see HBP if this release date holds. I will buy a ticket for a movie from another studio and walk into HBP instead. They want more money but won't get mine, and I'll still see the movie. I suggest everyone do the same.
I support this petition. This is utterly ridiculous. Personally, I'm not sure I'm going to see the movie now. I was on the fence to begin with (being a book purist and all- I hate seeing the books messed up. (Slughorn??)) and now you've just pissed off not only people like me, but your loyal viewers as well. Yeah you can kiss my 10.50$ goodbye. I can't believe you're making so many people miserable for more money...
