it is ridiculous to disappoint so many fans just to make a little more money, I am shocked that Jk Rowling and the cast of the movie are going along with this knowing how upsetting it will be for all the fans who support them.
I support this petition. I am totally otrage that WB would do this....I have tried to over look all of the obvious mistakes they make in their films and them bringing on Michael Gambon.....but this! this is just as unforgivable as an unforgivable course!

First of all for MONTHS, WB has said that the release date for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will be released sometime November 21, 2008 They have already begun merchandising, announcing, and even released trailers. Now all of the flipping sudden they decided to push it back all the way to July 2009! That 8 freaking months!!!!!!
I have never been more outraged. First they try to con us out of more money by deciding to split Deathly Hallows into two movies, now they are pushing it back 8 months so as to have a summer release. They even admit that the point of the summer release is to make more money!!! THAT IS INSANE. THE HARRY POTTER FAN BASE IS ALREADY SET. PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO SEE THE MOVIE WILL SEE IT NO MATTER IF IT IS FREAKING -100 DEGREES!!! WE DON'T GIVE A FLYING FLIP ABOUT THE DATE. WE DO CARE ABOUT WARNER BROTHER'S HONESTY AND INTEGRITY! We were promised a date, and even started to be fed excitement. They even just 3 days ago announced international release dates.
The real reason: They are scared, and money hungry. They are terrified because they are soon losing the number 1 grossing film franchise in world history (Harry Potter) They have already cut the last book into two, trying to milk it. Since they already started HBP they couldn't do that, so instead they are trying to build up more and more excitement, making it farther and farther away. Furthermore, they are afraid to combine the success of Dark Night and Harry Potter in the same fiscal year; because then the precious stockholders will be underwhelmed by the next terms earnings in comparison. Little do they know, the HP fan base is strong, close, and overwhelmingly vocal... they will never hear the end of this...
I seriously am VERY tempted to boycott the movie all together and buy a freaking pirated copy of it when it comes out, no lie...

And movies are supposed to be about entertainment and art, not about making the most money you can possible make from it. The movie is gonna make a lot of money whenever it comes out. I truly believe something is up and this not the real reason, because releasing it a month later in December when everyone will be on Winter Break would still bring in a LOT of money. If that was the real reason they'd only need to wait a month, not nearly a year...

it's ridiculous how even though harry potter 6 finished filming in april, they're claiming its because of the writer's strike that they're holding back on releasing it. meanwhile, the trailer is already out. ARG!!
