Help stop the mares and babies being used to creat a bitter pill called Premarin to help menopausol symtons. These mares are treated very inhumanely and are strapped in a tie stall with a strap in front and behind so that they can't move. They stand still till their urine is collected. Although they are fed alot of food but only to fatten them up so they can be sent to slaughter once they give up on life. The babies are pinned up till Laubor Day so they can be sent to the auctions. The fillies are kept to replace their mothers and the colts are weaned to early and sen to the auction house. Help us stop this so they can be free! Education is a must to stop this horrible practice, i wish the "enforcers" will try to stand for days and days strap in a room where they cannot move or turn around. And for the poor babies, they dont deserve that, just die in the cold and if they make it head for the slaughter house, with no remorse. What kind of human being will sumit an animal to this.

Menapausol women don't have to use Premarin - there are plenty of other man-made drugs they can take for menapause. I have a PMU foal who I won in an essay contest, and she is the sweatest thing ever! She has so enriched my life, and I can't imagine not having her. It is hard to even think that she was so very close to heading straight to slaughter!

I am completely for this petition and hope tons of people sign it! But we cannot blame menapausol women. Many probably know nothing about this. Let us educate them! Horses are our fellow creatures and they cannot simply be murdered so that people are more comfortable and dogs can eat Premium Dog Chow!

What they don't realize is that they are throwing off the horse industry all across Canada and United States. Horses (even good quality) prices are being driven down due to the quantity therefore more and more are going for meat prices. Our horses are being slaughtered for the rich in Europe. It makes me mad to see such a noble beast lowered to such a degree. Horses are the foundation of this nation they took us into war, worked on farms, and friends. And this is how they are treated? What thanks is this to our companions? Could we not show them compassion for once? They get beaten and abused and when they begin signs of aging they are sent to the auction to pick up .19 cents a pound just to fill their owners pockets. Premarine is just one example of how horses are being destroyed.
