If you don't want to put the money down to publish the book in a
physical way, just release it on the internet as an e-book. Thats just as
good. |

Eric :
Well, I think this book will make me cooler if I read it and then start
making mods to impress people. I will do anything to boost my
'coolness' factor, so I'm signing this petition since this book
has the secret of 'coolality' in it and I want it for that reason.
You all ****, I am your master. Now roll on the floor. NOW! >:|

CowInParachure :
I don't get why Prima would prefer to release a book on how to complete
a game (which can be found on GameFAQs for free, let's remember) over a
book on how to mod with Source, which people will no doubt find much more
useful. |

Piggus :
Many people, including me, believe Half-Life 2 is one of the greatest PC
games ever made. As many have seen with Counter-Strike, mods play a major
role in the Half-Life community. Eventually more people started playing CS
than HL, and such is the case with Half-Life 2. Many people are feeling the
power of the Source engine through "Garry's mod". Which is,
in my opinion the best mod that has ever been created.
So I ask you all at Prima: How can we continue getting great mods out the
community if nobody is making them? If you write a guide, you will
obviously inspire some people to get into mod making. I think it would be
a poor decision on your part to drop this guide. tell me... what would you
be losing by including a mod makers guide? Tons of people would buy it. I
know i probably would. |
| 32 |
17 Feb 2005 - 8:23
Adz :
I dont have Half-Life 2 but i'll buy it to mod it ^_^ |

As lead artist of Clash of the Ages, I believe Valve has poorly documented
the SDK tools and a book like this would be greatly beneficial to any
aspiring mod developers out there. |

Thats would be cool and everyone could make there own unique mods and
contribute more to the game and the community of HL2 gamers. :D |
| 44 |
18 Feb 2005 - 5:36
Jon :
The success of Half-Life is arguably due to its thriving mod scene so
kicking them in the teeth would only affect Valve in the long run. |

Stephen "the_s-man" Murray :

Please make the book. I need it to make mods and stuff.
Alternatively, you could offer the book as a pdf. I will even do the
layout for free. Then you just have to write it and make money. |
