This is not the good decisionings for making. The book is to be made on skedyool. PLease do layout with abacus; it is the good for New York design dimensionings at turn of centuries.
I don't care if you are calling me the gay. I am liking the it. Please to use OS3 and Photoshop 2. I am the used them in my business of dimension three.
The only thing not releasing the book will do is loose them money, by releasing the book, they not only make a crap-load of money, but people become alot happoer too!
I see no reason why they should create this book when valve cannot supply a final version of it's code. It seems every 2 weeks we are having to rerun Create a Mod to get the latest crap from it.
I dont see any reason they should not create this book there is a such thing as a hl2 community (namingly hl2c)
Naturally I'd sign. Would be stupid to cancel the book...
No matter how hardcore you are sometimes you need to look up something you've forgot. And if you're a beginner.... well... speaks for itself.
Please make the book. I need it to make mods and stuff.
Alternatively, you could offer the book as a pdf. I will even do the layout for free. Then you just have to write it and make money.
As lead artist of Clash of the Ages, I believe Valve has poorly documented the SDK tools and a book like this would be greatly beneficial to any aspiring mod developers out there.
Many people, including me, believe Half-Life 2 is one of the greatest PC games ever made. As many have seen with Counter-Strike, mods play a major role in the Half-Life community. Eventually more people started playing CS than HL, and such is the case with Half-Life 2. Many people are feeling the power of the Source engine through "Garry's mod". Which is, in my opinion the best mod that has ever been created.
So I ask you all at Prima: How can we continue getting great mods out the community if nobody is making them? If you write a guide, you will obviously inspire some people to get into mod making. I think it would be a poor decision on your part to drop this guide. tell me... what would you be losing by including a mod makers guide? Tons of people would buy it. I know i probably would.
I don't get why Prima would prefer to release a book on how to complete a game (which can be found on GameFAQs for free, let's remember) over a book on how to mod with Source, which people will no doubt find much more useful.
I am very disappointed at this decision by valve. i was extremley eager to getting my hands on the guide and hopefully making a difference for a change :/
please, please reconsider.
keep the book, its going to sell, make you money, thats all you gready bastards are after right? dont be canceling it, you are going to let a lot of people down
Well, I think this book will make me cooler if I read it and then start making mods to impress people. I will do anything to boost my 'coolness' factor, so I'm signing this petition since this book has the secret of 'coolality' in it and I want it for that reason.
You all suck, I am your master. Now roll on the floor. NOW! >:|
Geekerati, lmao, you keep mixing half-life 2 and halo 2...hahahahahahahahahahah ahahahahah
I think that this would be a great book to release...Way more informative than 'raising the bar' and will help to develop the skills in the editing community
The streets of gotham will be safer without this book... learn to make mods yourself instead of following someone elses instructions coz thats just lame... bah!
Anyway must dash as the bat signal shines above gotham!
