I think it's a good thing that they banned us from the mall on Friday and Saturday nights because now we won't be intimadating to the customers and can go do something more constructive with our time...you know like drinking & doing drugs. I have never had any problems with the teenagers at the mall on the weekends. We used to go to the mall and hang out when we were teenagers (way back when). If we don't have safe places where teens can socialize, then they will be out in the streets

I think that by eliminating friday and saturday nights at the mall, many stores will loose bussiness! Plus if we are all old enough to get jobs at 14 then we are old enough to go to the mall without an adult! This is one of the only places where we can hang out! This idea is idiotic. Yes I can see why they would want to do it, but going to the mall on Fridays and Saturdays is what we as teens do. Most don't sit around listening to the radio, or make meals, etc. Takiing this away on the two days of the week where we get to hang out and stay out late is stupid. Anytime I've ever been at the mall, nothing has ever happened, but maybe that's just me. I heard tha the rule applies only after 4:00pm... which is when we all go! If they make this decision, then they won't see me there anymore, along with so many other kids.

I think the Holyoke Mall is going to make a huge mistake with this new rule. I am a parent of a 17 year old and I would never walk the mall with him at his age holding his hand when he is there to meet his friends. I think now you see more kids out on the street and we all know this is not a good place for them to be with all of the drugs and beatings that happen out there. I feel safe when I bring my son to the mall because he is off the streets. We can't even have them go to the movies at there age because everything is rated R which requires them to have an adult accompany them. At this age we should be able to let them go and be adults. This is going to kill business for all of the stores that try to get kids to buy like Journeys, Hot Topic, American Eagle, etc. I hope this petition will work and hopefully change this ridiculous rule.

This is age discrimination. If the older people are scared, then they can find another time to shop. Hire the extra security guards and let them deal with any problems that occur. But if there have been no problems reported, then just leave it alone.
As a parent, I find this new rule very unfair. Teenagers need a place to go where they will be safe. I do not want to shop at a place that doesn't allow children. I've gone to the mall many times and have never been intiminated or bothered by teeangers.

This idea is so hideous. The mall is a place to relax, be social, and purchase items. The mall will loose a ton of business, and some parents won't have the time to take their teenager to the mall. Also, around the age of 16, some kids are just getting their licenses, and therefore, can drive. Their not going to drive to Disneyworld,so come on! The only fun they can have is at the mall. To tell us that we can't go is stupid. During the week , we don't have time to go to the mall, because of school. The only chance we have is on Friday and Saturday. To take this away is to take away our life.

I think this is a really unfair rule and I oppose it being passed. I think it would be really prejudice and discriminatory if it was passed. I think this new law is unfair to teens. The reason so many of us choose to go to the mall on Fridays and Saturdays is because many of us have school, sports, and after school jobs to go to. Because of these, the weekend is often the only time that we have to shop. Furthermore, I belive many of the stores that are aimed to the teen age group will suffer greatly financially. Without our business, which usually comes on Fridays and Saturdays, a large part of their customers will no longer shop there. This new law makes little sense and is very offensive. Just because a few teens have misbehaved, other responsible teens must suffer as well.

I am 17 years old, I am living on my own, I work at the mall and I am in college. I am disgusted that the people who own the mall would generalize and force people like me, who are responcible and shop at the mall, to seek other places to make purcheses. There are many sales in the mall that are just on weekends, and now I can no longer make purchases during that time. This is going to forse the mall to lose money, as well, because they will be waisting money on hiring extra security to watch the doors and cutting back thier shoppers. This is discrimination and I will not stand here while this mall participates in age diiscrimination.
