This is the worst idea the mall could possibly have. it is pretty ridiculous because there are times that a kid may need to go to the mall but the parent can't be with them. If anything just have people to patrol to stop the stupid kids who just go there and smoke pot or sell it or who knows what. All the stores will lose money, and then they might just leave, then the mall will lose money, then it will close down, and then it will all be a big disaster.

This rule is pathetic!!! And extremly dumb! I don't know if the people who made this rule are aware they are going to lose a lot of customers, less money. Because, the majority of people shopping there are teens and are under 18. Then there will be fewer, and less products being bought. This rule is unfair and unjustified! All ages should be treated equaly. Just because of the stupid teens who act like losers do bad things doesn't mean all teens are like that! Now, just because of them, so many well behaved teens are punished and will be really bored and upset on weekends. I mean, who wants to be see with their moms and dads shopping, esspecially if they are teens, its a sensitive age whare they're embarressed easily. This is a really dumb rule, and won't last long. Then all the security guards will be fired because they won't have any use for them, there won't be fights to break up and stalers to bust.
I am really upset with this rule you are punishing teens who have not done anything wrong. Maybe if your security guards patroled the mall, problems wouldn't occur as often. Besides most of your income comes from teens so don't be suprised when rates drop dramatically considering Fridays and Saturday nights are really the only times convienent to go for teens. I hope you reconsider this unfair rule, most of us don't contribute to problems anyway!

I believe that this is really really stupid. Why would you take something fun for teenages under the age of 18? You shouldnt take something away like that for one mall because than the kids will go to another mall like east field or such. Theres such thing as bad kids and good kids and you shouldnt take that away from the good kids because its like your blaming them from what the bad kids had done. Not only that so many kids go to Holoke Mall because its so large and buy alot of accessories or items. Without those kids, alot of stores are going to go low on there money.Why do this to kids?

Every teenager spends at least $20 at the mall for whatever reason they went to the mall for. In example; Game fanatics spend most of their time in the arcade, Trying to beat the high score... or The fashionable girls who spend a lot of time and Money in the wide variety of stores you have. Every kid that went to the mall has a reason for going... Whether it be eating, video games, clothes, or a place to just chill out and walk for a while... Meet some new people. I think this is absurd we will not be able to go to the mall without a parent on those days. Teenagers these days use the mall as a getaway to spend time with friends and not with parents. Not only is it discrimination, but its also costing stores money from hundreds of teens a day. People need to open their eyes and realize that not all kids are problem causers. That is why there is security, for the ones that cause problems.

aparentally Unescorted teenagers will still be allowed to shop at stores with exterior entrances but will not be allowed to enter the common areas. for some reason they've hired more security gaurds to guard the door and to card ppl, instead of hiring more guards to guard against the bad kids. they dont relize the true facts. and William J. Rogalski, general manager of the mall, said most unescorted teenagers have been well-behaved, but a growing number have become disruptive. also this isn't even a policy yet; Ellen Albano, assistant general manager of the mall on Boston Road, said officials are meeting with merchants tomorrow to discuss possible limits on unescorted teens.

I LOVE the mall, and I cant imagine not being able to go there on friday and saturday (pretty much the only time I'm allowed to go there or have the time. especially during school)Besides, a lot of stores wull suffer and it wont be good for stores that teenagers shop at. Now teenagers cannot go to the mall. They put ratings on movies, TV shows, video games. Tell them when they can be outside. This IS America, remember. Soon enough no one under 21 will be able to wipe their ass without their parents in the room. This policy isnt "gay" or "retarded" but it is pretty appaling. If these people are so worried about teenagers making "adults" at the mall feel uncomfortable, I can't wait to see how they feel when our generation is running the country. I know that I am preaching to the choir , but I would implore anyone involved in drafting this policy to post, or send E-mails explaining to these hardworking young adults exactly why they need ID to go to the mall.....
If this keeps up kids will have no place but the street to hang out on. We should not let e few bad kids make it bad for all of the kids.
