I support this Petition, and think it was a terrible thing to fire her in the first place. You should be apologizing to not only Brooke, but the entire gay/lesbian community.
I am a very loyal fan of Grey's Anatomy and have been since the very first show. What you have done with Erica Hahn is very disappointing, Homophobic, and completely biased to say the least. Your decision to cut Erica's character out of nowhere is nothing less than a slap in the face to gays and lesbians everywhere. The fact that you would give in so easily to social pressures disgusts me. You have millions of viewers around the world and you have a responsibility to finish what you started. What kind of message are you sending by taking this course of action? I urge you to do the right thing and finish this the right way. Don't leave a bad taste in the collective mouth of America. By not having the courage to finish your own project you are loosing face and bringing shame down upon the entire show. I beg you to reconsider your ill chosen course.
I didn't even start watching Grey's until after someone told me about Callie and Erica. I was excited to see their storyline on prime time TV.
Supporting homophobia is wrong, and forcing the firing of Brooke Smith, a wonderful, talented actress, just because of the route her character went is even worse.
Bring back Brooke Smith. ABC you are supporting homophobia by forcing the firing of Brooke. ABC you may of thought there was no chemistry between Callie and Erica, you were wrong. I think they were the sweetest couple on the show. They were the main reasons why I got in to watching Grey's.
It's sad to see ABC be so hypocritical in this day and age. Erica was a great character both before and after the storyline exploring her sexuality. Shame on ABC for firing her.
I support this petition. Brooke rocked that storyline as well as everything else she has ever been in. Shame on you ABC for pulling this type of thing, and shame on you Shonda for not standing up for both your show and your fans!
I support this petition.
I’m really disappointed to learn that Brook Smith character of Dr. Erica Hahn is being taken off Grey’s Anatomy. I was applauding ABC for developing gay storyline into the show, now I’m dumfounded that Brook’s character is being taken off the show. Is her removal due to the fact that her character came out as being gay, I feel we’ll never know the truth to that decision.
Brook Smith played a character that was strong self confident, powerful, professional woman, and more recently she was a character who started to see her flaws behind her confidence and professionalism and was learning how to change them. I liked Dr. Hahn as a character on the show. In any drama you need a good antagonistic characters, with the absence of Isaiah Wahington’s Dr. Burk and Kate Walsh’s Dr. Montongomery, Brook Smith character filled that void beautifully. Do we want a to watch show filled with all winy interns?
On a show that takes many chances some good some bad, I personally feel that removing Dr. Hahn from Seattle Grace is a mistake.

Brooke Smith is the best actor on Grey's, and to fire her for being "too good" at being gay is a slap in the face to all gay people, everywhere. God forbid we actually appreciate an honest portrayal of our lives on television. And this is her thanks? Old Boy Network, no doubt.
The idea that the character of Erica is being written out of the show for no reason other than a lack of chemistry with Callie is laughable at best.. this move by ABC is appalling, and a major slap in the face considering the amendments further restricting the rights of lgbt which just passed in the election.

I just started watching Grey's Anatomy this season.
Now I'll find something else to watch, unless this character is brought back.
This could not have come at a worse time for the LGBT community. Kick us while we're down, right? I would have rather them not even attempt a storyline like this than attempt it and then yank it, THEN give the lamest cop-outs since "It's not you, it's me."
We (lesbians) are so pathetically happy with every little scrap of love we're given, like begging puppies! Then it's yanked away before we can get our teeth into it, like a cruel joke - leaving us yipping and yapping!
I still get angry thinking about the suddenly abrupt departure of Brooke Smith's Erica Hahn a few days after one of the most touching, realistic coming out scenes on prime-time, network TV. This is discrimination and it has to stop and people have to know that this is not OK and gays and lesbians have as much a right to be represented on TV, to get married, and to just live.
First the massacre that is the 08 GLBT anti marriage and anti adoption legislature and now this. Some equality and representation for all. Any one who has watched grays knows they show worse stuff then what they did of the callica relationship all the time. I am dissapointed in the homophobic attitudes of the network and wish they had considered the massive amount of damage to helping a movement they have just done. Hahn deserved better and so do we
It is absolutely ridiculous that this amazing actress and character is getting thrown off the show so abruptly. The storyline of erica and callie has been great, and homophobics need to learn to deal with it. They even censored most of their relationship. hetero couples on the show have much more explicit love scenes, while theirs have nearly nothing to them.
I am going to stop watching the show. I dont like any of the other storylines and feel like they have destroyed all the characters. Callica gave me hope that this show could turn around. guess not.
I'm ready to say goodbye to Grey's Anatomy
