Brook Smith is an outstanding actress. Her character is actually realistic. Many people find the Callie / Erica storyline the most interesting this year, including myself.

I support this petition. Brooke Smith made Grey's...the whole Meredith and Derrick scene is getting old! Brooke had a strong character who stood up to the arrogant men like Sloan, she portrayed a fabulous heart surgeon, and her character coming out as a lesbian made lesbians across the nation proud. BTW, isn't it a double standard, and huge slap in the face, firing a great actress who's character is gay when one of your character's is gay in real life...if they are so homophobic? Also, how is this making George (TJ?) feel...has to be a slap in the face to him since they fired Brooke because her character was "too gay?!" I am very upset with their decision and do not care to watch the show anymore!
This is so lame of ABC to be doing. I'm upset at ABC the most, but am also mad at Shonda Rhimes for not fighting this decision. I wouldnt be surprised if Sara wanted to leave the show, as well as T.R. Knight. Shonda, you need to fix this and bring Brooke back.
I support this petition. I am horrified that ABC has chosen to take the easy way out and remove the Callie Torres-Erica Hahn storyline from Grey's Anatomy and fire Brooke Smith. How shameful! By catering to the cause of ignorance, you are reinforcing the notion that there is just something wrong with two women having a relationship. This tarnishes ABC's image as a gay-friendly network. I will never watch another ABC or Disney program so long as I live.

Callie and Erica's relationship renewed my interest in Grey's Anatomy last year. Now that Erica's gone however, I see no reason to continue to watch Grey's Anatomy. Shame on you, ABC, for getting rid of a strong female character portrayed by a wonderfully talented actress. I am so disappointed.
I support this petition. Being gay myself, i watch hetro couples walk about and kiss and its acceptable, but who says who we can and cannot love, and what is acceptable to the public eye. This county is going to pieces, in its media, beliefs, and government. Other countries that have accepted GBLT lifestyles, are way ahead of the US.
I support this petition. The character of Erica was exciting, harsh, combative, and interesting. Much more so than the vaselating character of Izzy - who finally is back to some semblance of the Izzy of Season One. Perhaps Ms. Heigl was right to take her name out of Emmy contention. Bring back Erica - what will you do with Cali now without her? Seems to be a knee-jerk reaction from ABC - ironic that Erica leaves when Prop 8 is wreaking havoc in California!

Brooke Smith was a fantastic actress, and her character was complicated, flawed and yet, realistic. Generally, these three characters are portrayals of REAL persons in the GLTB community.
This is outrageous and unacceptable. Axing a character off of a show is a blatant slap in the face, whether you are straight, gay, bisexual, transgendered or other, when the reason behind that firing concerns sexual orientation.
I support this petition. This story line was very important to many people. A whole community. It wasn't hurting anyone. The show is on late enough to where it wasn't "influencing" anyone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reconsider this!!!
I support this petition. You let go the best actress you'd had on board. What a shame! Her character was the reason I tuned in: brilliant, independent. You don't have any other characters as engaging as hers was. There's nothing left for me to like.
I want BROOKE SMITH to stay in GREYS ANATOMY. Even if they have to change her story line. I think its a loss for greys to let her go, and her character go, as one of the great surgeons in seattle grace. not necessarily as a lesbian.
