Brooke is a fantastic actress. There was no reason to fire her other than the fact that your network is scared of appearing too 'gay friendly'. Grow up ABC.
I absolutely adore Brooke Smith and find her an incredible actress. Erica Hahn is a strong, bold, completely anti-wallflower woman. And because of that, people are getting afraid of portraying her the way she is?
It a shame, really, and I hope it's something that can be alleviated.
I support this petition. I do not, however, support homophobic networks who lack the curage of their convictions. If you couldn't handle the responsiblity of writing a lesbian and/or bisexual character, then you should have at least bowed out gracefuly. Firing Brooke was abrubt and uncalled for. If this is all the respect you can show for people who don't fit your standards of 'normal' then I can't support your network. I'm begging you to prove us all wrong when we call your actions homophobic. Bring Brooke back.
I support this petition. Brooke Smith is a cool. If they didn't like her story then change the writing don't get rid of her. Also she is a realistic doctor. Most doctors aren't wishy washy like Meredith.
I am a lesbian. The action taken by ABC Studios tells me that I, and every other gay person, doesn't deserve to be in primetime. That we don't deserve to have our sex lives given as much time as that of heterosexual couples. It's discrimination, and it is ruining a well-written relationship. There are so many things wrong with ABC's actions that I can't even begin to describe them.

Brooke is an amazing actress(far better than some others on the show) and her character is strong and interesting.
Is she's still fired of the show I won't be watching it anymore, because it is not only a lack of respect to Brooke Smith talent but as well to the public who apparently does not have saying on what it wants to watch.
I support this petition. Brooke Smith is an amzing actress and she deserves so much better! Her relationship with Callie felt so genuine to me. I would love it if Brooke were to come back, but after all of this, honestly, she is too classy for GA. So thank you ABC you have freed up several nights for me. Where I used to watch your programs, I will not turn to another station. I have never been more dissapointed or insulted. Brooke - we all love you and while you will be sorely missed on Grey's, I look forward to seeing you move on to bigger and better things!
Brooke Smith added dimension and intelligence to Grey's Anatomy and to have her character disappear before we ever got to know her is not only a disservice to the viewers but to the actor herself. I'm shocked and disappointed by the decision and as a matter of principle will now spend by Thursday nights reading a good book.
