I support this petition. This relationship was portrayed in such a real manner that showed that people can just fall in love despite gender. I am deeply saddened that ABC has chosen to remove Brooke Smith from the cast. This has marred my opinion of the show, one I have been a fan of since day one, and has seriously got me doubting my Grey's Fandom.
As a loyal viewer from the very beginning of the series, I had all but given up on the show until this story line began. It got me excited about Grey's for maybe the first time ever. I couldn't wait for each new episode. Now, I don't even know if I'll be tuning in after this week. Bad choice, ABC. I'm saddened and disappointed by your cowardice.
I support this petition. This relationship was part of a show that was experiencing a rebirth in quality and attractiveness to viewers. I loved watching how their relationship was developing, and I know many other viewers did as well. Please consider keeping Erica Hahn on the show, to finish her storylines not just with Callie, but also with Christina, the Chief, Bailey, and all of the other doctors who she is working with to create a good hospital.
I think Brooke Smith is an incredible actress and the storyline deserved an ending that made sense. I think that the ABC executives are focusing on a viewership that doesn't represent mainstream america and thus I truly feel that this was a huge mistake. I will officially stop watching the show if Brooke is not rehired by the end of the season.
I support this petition. Erica and Callie really gave me hope for LGBT television, and so, along with the prop 8 thing, im pretty much gonna give up on trying to feel equal.
I didn't like Grey's a lot or was interested in watching it and one day I zapped trough the channels and saw Brooke Smith and remembered her from Crossing Jordan, which was the first show ever that I was a really big fan of (some years ago). So I kept watching this episode and I liked Hahn and she was the main reason I wanted to see the next episode of Grey's too and all the following ones. Brooke's a great actress and Hahn's a truly great character! And the reasons for her being written out are just not fair.

I think itīs a shame that tv executives still "habe issues" with a lesbian couple on a tv show.We live in 2008 but they seem to think itīs still 1988.
I avidly support this petition.
If you don't like where the character is at, do some re-writing. They've done a major overhaul with multiple characters: look at Addison who was hostile in her first season or Callie who was the "freak" and completely ostracized.
You don't stop writing a character because you don't like her--you stop writing a character because you have to smother a fire before it gets out of control.
You don't fire an actress because she agrees to fight for a cause she believes in--you fire an actress because she fights for a cause the conservative media disagrees with.
Brooke took on something much larger than herself: she and Sara Ramirez entered into the first fictional lesbian relationship on prime time TV. They're not the young, hot blondes that sneak a passionate kiss in the locker room, they were curvaceous, middle-aged women that represented the real physique of America's female. They saw an opportunity to give a voice to those who didn't have one--who knew they would be stripped of their security?
This is bigger than Erica Hahn. It's bigger than Brooke Smith, her husband, and her children. This is about you and I, and the media dictating how we view the world.
Don't be the conservative media, ABC. Do what's right for both Brooke and for us, the viewers otherwise you stand to lose a very large viewer based from the network entirely.
