Harry Potter should be taken off the Banned Books lists. The main reason the books are on the list is because the books have to do with a type of Witchcraft. The books are not about Wicca, the Witchcraft that is most used throughout the world. There is no such thing as waving a wand around and saying "Accio Remote" and have your Remote Control come flying at you. Furthermore, the books' plot doesn't have anything to do with Witchcraft. Two of the main things are the battle between Good vs. Evil, and also Destiny. Harry has to fulfill his Destiny (destroying Lord Voldemort) and save the Wizarding World. Most Christian-based Relgions (which is the main Religious group that is attacking the Harry Potter books) believe in Destiny or something similiar, so why are you trying to get rid of something that you believe in?

Sorry, Harry Potter IS about witchcraft. If you call yourself a Christian and you take the bible literally, you believe that witchcraft really exsists. Oh, and the Wicca girls in here? Have fun worshiping the Devil even as you think you're worshipping the Earth. Suckers.

It's a book. It was the first book I really enjoyed. It showed some books can be fun to read.

If someone has a problem with a book, such as Harry Potter, they should just not read it, not make it so everyone else can't read it as well.

Potter has nothing to do with Wicca. You must understand that Wicca is the religion of peace and harmony. They are christians, who always fight with the obstacles and fears they create for themselves.

The Harry Potter books are good stories created for children to teach them about life, not magic. They teach about a little boy without a family and though he has money he considers his best (and very poor) friend to be richer than him because Ron has a family. Its about good (harry) vs evil (voldemort). They shouldn't be banned.

It's ****ing called IMAGINATION you ****wit. There's no such thing as a Wizard of Oz either. Or an alien called E.T. Or a stargate, which transports you from one planet to the next. I don't see you putting up a petition for them huh?

No one has the right to say what people can and can't read. We have that freedom as a citizen of the U.S. That is so wrong to say that you should ban it. Just because people READ about witchcraft doesn't mean you practice it.

omg, That is so stupid. Many people go to the books partys for when new books come out, and they Watch the movies. They cant just ban the books because of peoples relgion. That is so stupid.
