In announcing their decision to move the opening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from November 2008 to July 2009, Warner Brothers has cited the possibility of making more money off a summer release.

Warner Brothers has already made several billion dollars off the Harry Potter franchise, and we believe the loyalty show by the fans who have stood in line for hours to pack opening week screenings, attended each film multiple times, and purchased all the films on DVD should not be so crassly ignored for the possibility of making a few more million dollars--which in the scope of the total revenue of the franchise is not that much.

To express our displeasure with WB at this action, we the undersigned pledge the following:

If the release date of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is not moved back to November 2008, we will send WB's executives a message by boycotting the opening week showings of the film, and by encouraging others to do the same.

If, on the other hand, the release date is returned to November 2008 we will see the film opening weekend, and encourage others to do the same.
