With the release of the Harry Potter movies on DVD, Warner Bros. has given pretty great transfers of the movie in terms of picture and sound quality. However, the bonus materials tend to be aimed at children. Maybe some deleted scenes, a couple featurettes, but a ton of games. The features have improved as the movies progressed, but there still aren't as many features as many people would like. How about commentaries? And in-depth full length documentaries on the creation of the films? Also, even though deleted scenes are present on the dvds, for fans of the Harry Potter books, I think that the movies should be extended to include additional moments cut out of the theatrical releases for time. They should be like the Lord of the Rings releases, that New Line Cinema produced. Harry Potter is just as popular, and should get the same treatment on DVD. It is only fair to fans to be able to get a very thorough and extensive DVD set of these wonderful movies, and be able to have a more "complete" version of these movies that has good scenes from the book that were cut from theaters.

I think that we as Harry Potter fans deserve Special Extended Edition DVDs of all 7 films. I have the Collector's DVD Gift Sets for The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia,King Kong and many others, and I would really like to see the same DVD treatment for Harry Potter. Each of the films need to be in a digipak slipcase, and they need a thorough DVD companion book, and they should also give us Harry Potter "The Appendices" discs. They need to give us HOURS of Special features, including image galleries with thousands of stills. I also think that each film should have a commentary, and even set up screens and sound options. If WB would just take a look at what Peter Jackson and Andrew Adamson have done with their DVDs, I would think that WB would want to meet the high standard that they have set! I think that the beginning of GOF (after Harry wakes up from his dream) was rushed WAY too much. The movie DESPARATELY needs to show the Qudditch World Cup match. The movie as a whole was wonderful, but not getting to see the match was, in my opinion, by far the biggest shortcoming in the entire film. It literally disrupts the flow of the movie.I think that all HP fans should address this issue AS MUSH AS POSSIBLE. It would be a real treat for the fans to be given the entire match in the GOF extended DVD. This is actually the second petition that I have signed regarding the creation of these DVDs. (The first one by Jake Weiner.) I am directly speaking to everyone who reads my comments, HELP US! We need more petitioners! Tell everyone you know! Spread the word! WB must start paying attention to us! WB, when you release the POA extended DVD, give us the COMPLETE extended version. Not just the couple of scenes you inserted for ABC Family. I think all Harry Potter fans, including myself, at least deserve some kind of explanation why this is taking so long.

I think that Harry Potter should not be directly aimed towards children since adults can enjoy it as well.
