I support this petition. Maybe out Governor could cut back on his travel expenses by moving to Springfield to actually get some work done. Money saved could fund the Historic Preservation Agency.
I support this petition 100%. These cutbacks not only affect the communities and individuals involved, it shows that Illinois doesn't value its past. We have a unique history and the small amount of money that the Governor feels is worth cutting from the budget is a drop in the bucket compared to other projects. I volunteer as a docent at the Clarke House in Chicago. Every child I tour walks away enriched and has some sense of why the house is important to all of us. Don't let our history slowly fade away. These sites won't last without money for upkeep. Please reconsider!
I support this petition. Do you people realize how many of our children take tours to these places each year? These places are important to our children and should also be important to us. These things are a part of history we should spend money on them instead of spending money on things like gambling casinos. Just something to think about.
I support this petition. It is totally wrong to close our state historic sites and parks. Please reconsider your vote. If you don't, I will never vote for you.
Sincerely,
Carol Scott
I support this petition. We all benefit from our historic sites, parks, and conservation areas for numerous reasons. The economic benefits derived from these sites have a trickle-down impact on the whole state in terms of employment both direct and indirect.
I support this petition. And with him closeing three parks close together.the I&M canal is major part of history in this area, lot of people use the trails that run from Rockdale to Lasalle.
