I wholly support this petition. My 12 year old went to Springfield on an Illinois History school field trip this year and THE highlight for him was the (Frank Lloyd Wright) Dana Thomas House. Reading that Blagoyevich has made these Parks and Historical Sites plus DCFS cutbacks makes me wonder how much he (and his office) cares about young people. I second the thought: “Every time I think he can’t do something worse, he does,” Sen. Larry Bomke, R-Springfield, said of the governor (State Journal-Register 8/29/08).
I support this petition. IT is important that a child can see history as well as read about it. These land marks have to remain open for children as well as adults to be able to experience.
I support this petition.
History is what defines all of us. The Vandalia State House is a vital part of not only Vandalia's or Illinois' history, but the nation's history as well.
