I support this petition. Cut the expense that exists to "recognize" ALL public and private schools. This has nothing to do with accreditation. Gov. tried this before but discriminated and tried to cut only private schools recognition. That's why it was protested. If it were state-wide all schools, no one would have cared and it'd save the state millions. Not one college asks to see your high school or grammar school's state recognition and this is not a requirement federally either. The high schools have other recognized accreditations (NCA) that aren't done by the state rendering state recognition a valueless piece of paper.
I support this petition. As a child I was taken to the Lincoln Cabin and was enthralled that I could touch a part of history. It's a shame that future generations will not be able to be inspired in the same way due to these budget cuts.
All areas of our state government are responsible for continuing the legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright, and the history of Illinois, and all must realize the significance in taking the Dana Thomas House away from us.
I support this petition. Lincoln Log Cabin is a place where anyone can go and learn by doing hands on activities! People come from different countries come to visit!
I support this petition. It is important to save our local history. Future generations depend on the knowledge those places hold. Please keep them open.
I support this petition and think it would be an embarrasment to close down these historic sites especially the old state capital in Vandalia and Kaskaskia and Fort Chartes.
