The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce deadline for nominations for the Hollywood Walk of Fame is May 31, 2007 at 12 noon. The Walk of Fame Committee will be meeting in June 2007 to consider all nominations. Let's get INXS on that list of nominations!!!

In order to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, nominees must meet three criteria:

Professional achievement
Longevity of five years in the field of entertainment
Contributions to the community

Australian group INXS certainly meets all the criteria for getting a star on the Walk of Fame. Members Andrew Farriss, Jon Farriss, Tim Farriss, Garry Gary Beers, Kirk Pengilly and their dynamic and charasmatic frontman/lyricist, the late Michael Hutchence (1960 - 1997) started performing as INXS in the late 70s. They released their first album, simply titled "INXS", in 1979.

INXS catapulted into superstardom status with the release of their internationally acclaimed album "Kick". With Michael writing the lyrics and Andrew providing the melodies, the duo produced such INXS hits as "Devil Inside", "Need You Tonight", "New Sensation", and "Original Sin". They have sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

In 2005, INXS hired new lead singer JD Fortune. With JD's strong vocals, Andrew, Jon, Tim, Gary, and Kirk continue to entertain fans all over the world with their Farriss/Hutchence penned hits and material from their new album "Switch".

To receive a star, the nominee's management or record company must pay a sponsorship fee of $15,000 and appropriate paperwork must be filed. By signing this petition, you will be telling INXS representatives that you want them to nominate INXS for a star on the Walk of Fame.

Come on, all INXS and Michael Hutchence fans! What a wonderful tribute this would be for this awesome band and especially for the late great Michael Hutchence. Let's sign this petition and get the ball rolling for our boys to get their star in 2008!!!
