We, the undersigned, wish to record formally our objection to the proposal by the Department of the Environment to make an Order prohibiting the killing, taking, selling or trading of Irish hares in Northern Ireland anytime from 19th January 2005 to 18th January 2006.

We believe that such an Order has no scientific basis, is detrimental to delivering concerted conservation action for Irish Hares, unfairly discriminates against responsible field sports and is based on personal prejudice.
