You sad miserable cruelty loving degenerates - the civilised world have had enough of you. Big men - hurting animals, how proud you are of yourselves - what bravery...
After 8 hundred years of attempting to rule this island, there is still failure to grasp that the one thing harriers do not - as a rule - hunt, is hares.
I have family connections with Northern Ireland going back for over a century. This ban is an erosion of choice and will not help the Irish Hare population one iota.
The banning of such traditional means of population control is unthinkable. It clearly demonstrates the lack of understanding for the people of the country.
This is an abuse of the Minister's power. 400 hares are regularly shot in a neighbouring estate where the beagles don't go. Hunting equals conservation!
I have observed many more wild hares in areas where they are hunted than in areas where they are not. A clear endorsement of hunting as a conservation method
If this is banned, then the government is removing freedom of choice. Simply because a group of people do not enjoy or understand this sport does not give them the right to stop it altogether. A minority hobby is skydiving, but anyone who does not enjoy this, has not banned it!
Just because we hunt hares does not mean that we do not love them and that we, as hunters would be prepared to devote 100 times more to protect the species than those who wish to ban hunting.
Does the Labour Party have no idea on country life at all? Their latest legislation shows their ignorance and prejudice. They do not understand the meaning of animal welfare so any bills proporting to this should be stopped.
