My deepest sympathy to Jag's family. May no other family or dog have to endure what Jag did. Jag may you know that you were loved by so many caring people and although you are no longer with us, your memory will live with all of us for the rest of our lives. Rest in Peace Buddy.
Stand up and be counted...TELL THE TRUTH !!Do YOU have any comprehension of the pain and anguish YOU are causing to Jags owners and all that loved him!!Don't bury your head in the sand. YOU have to live with this for the rest of your life!! Heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of your handsome boy Jag..Breeder/Owner/Handle r...England
Accidents can happen to ANYONE..but this is not an accident so much as a case of GROSS NEGLECT! I hope these handlers are barred from EVER sowing ANY dogs again..from BOTH the AKC and the CKC. It won't bring Jag back..nor will winning the law suit mend the broken hearts of those who knew and loved Jag...but it may well serve as a HEADS UP to other handlers. When handlers show a dog for other people, they had best be taking EVERY precaution with that animal to ensure that it is returned safely to the ones who love it. REST YOUR BRIGHT SPIRIT JAG!! Heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved him. Darlene
It is a sad day for all who came to love Jag. It is unfortunate that we must implement a rule to protect our beloved animals from those we pay to protect them while in their care. Tragic accident - I believe so - negligence - I firmly believe so. Unexcusable - absolutely. I hope that Justice For Jag is served swiftly.
At least this dog's death will bring this to the attention of all people grooming their dogs. No different than a small child, you can't leave them unattended.
How in the world would this Rule or Law? be enforced? I would think it better to post warning signs at dog shows as to the all the dangers that exist at a dog show...as in NEVER, NEVER leave any dog unattended ...there are many reasons for this...because there are Animal Rights Groups members, PETA, HSUS, DDAL etc that go to shows and steal dogs or turn them loose to run free! ....another reason.....visitors can be mean to your dogs, I have seen people poke at the dogs through the bars of their crates with a pen and others use their fingers, not good incase fido bites! a law suit in the making... and you never know if someone might slip them poison or feed them some thing they are allergic to, the possibilities are endless....who knows...it's very sad what happened to JAG, and if he was left unattended on the table and died as a result, and the handlers covered it up , for fear of admitting guilt, they should be punished by fines and maybe even jail time but jail hardly ever does any good.....I just don't see how a petition can help....Lets educate, take it to your breed clubs...and conformation classes..etc.....Again... ..who is going to enforce the rule any way? AKC or UKC or who ever is putting on the show would have adopt the rule and every club across North America would have to follow suit...it's just not feasible,,,and what would the punishment be ? if its gonna be a rule there has to be a punishment and its hard to legislate against accidents...what happens if you had dog on the table and you turn your back for a spilt second and he tries to leap off the table snapping his neck...should you be punished for that?? how should you be punished? Please rethink this idea of a petition...Thank you for your consideration....Mary
As the daughter and sister of professional dog handlers, I am appalled at the lack of concern for the well-being of the dog by the handlers. AKC should suspend them for life.
no dog should be left unattended on a grooming table. a handler or assistant should be within arms length of the dog at all times. my condolences to your beautiful dog jag. and his owners, and breeder. i hope this handler is prohibited from showing dogs for an extended period of time.
How sad that this has happened to Jag. I will never put my show dogs in the hands of professional handlers, besides we love being in the ring with them ourselves. We won't forget you Jag. There is a purpose to your life and journey for others.
We work with a rescue organization www.asgoodasgold.org neglect of a Golden is something we deal with every day but it never gets easy. JAG we will get this passed!
I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Jag.
I have been in dog shows for over 30 yrs and there have been many times I have seen dogs neglected in the so called hands of a Prof Handler. They want to make the big bucks but take the responsbiltiy very lightly.
I would never send one of my dogs with a handler and only use one if I really had to and I was at show to watch over them.
I was sick in heart to read what happened to Jag, but then for the handlers to lie about it.I do hope the AKC takes serious action from this. Afer all it is an AKC show...rest in peace Jag. Know that you were loved.
I am so sorry for your loss. Jag looked like a very beautiful dog.
I have no use for some of these so called Prof handlers. They want to make the big bucks but take the responsiblity very lighty. I have been in dog shows for over 30yrs and I have seen many times dogs being neglected in the hands of a so called handler.
