Hall of Fame - that dog deserved so much more. No one should EVER leave a dog unattended on a grooming table. This law will be good for all dogs/handlers.
My deepest sympathy to the owners. Have seen this many times at dogs shows. Numerous dogs on tables in one area with no one in sight watching over them. What a senseless tragedy.
I have seen this time and time again at dog shows. These handlers take on too many dogs to make more money. Their love of dogs has gone down the drain. There should be a limit to the amouont of dogs these "professional s" are alowed to show in one competition or there needs to be a dog handler ratio so the "professional s are required to hire help to prevent these things from happening.
I think there is a lesson to be learned from this. Our canines companions are too intelligent and loving, and devoted to their family members to be treated so impersonally. They deserve to be treated with more respect.
Deepest Sympathy, The groomers should spend a lot of time in jail. This situation should be treated as if a baby or child were murdered and they should suffer the same consequences.
so sorry to hear of a loss like this. i have had my own welshie leap off a table & dangle just when i bent over to pick up a dropped stripping knife..sometimes our little ones arent as bright or obedient as we thing they are!
My heart goes all to all involved. I hope something is done to prevent this from ever happening again. And that the person responsible for Jag's loss is punished.
I am devestated to see that someone who makes their money off of people on a daily basis to care for an animal, would ever put an animal in danger. Leaving a dog on a grooming table is unthinkable to me. I worry about my dogs even when I am with them. I worry about the safety of my dogs when they are in crates a dog show. These people cannot be recognized as handlers by the AKC; with ethics like that.
This Groomer committed two crimes. One-leaving Jag unattended Two-covering up the first crime. You can make this rule, but a severe punishment MUST be dealt out to the people breaking it! My heart goes out to what Jag must have gone through and to his family for their lost.
So sorry to hear about Jag sincerest sympathies. I hope the person responsible is barred from handling dogs for life. Never leaving a dog alone on a table is one of the first things to learn.
My heartfelt sympathy to those who loved Jag. I see this all too often at dog shows and am always worried about the dogs left alone. This must not ahppen again!
Jag belongs to a very close friend of ours. Tony and I did everything we could to help her find out exactly what happened. This is, indeed, a very, very sad outcome.
This is an absolute disgrace. No one like this has any business showing or owning ANY dog. These people deserve to not only have to pay MORE than the plaintiffs asked for, but to also spend a LONG time in jail. Totally disgusting.
Dishonesty is a means to an end, the shop should have been put out of its misery long ago. May Jag's death not be in vain, and more caution be taken by others.
It does not only happend on shows. I had my dog at the groomers when a few hours later, he happend to be on the tabble unattended, I realized and was aking the lady but my little fuy had one thought in mind, need to get to mom, so he jump, not only was he chocking the table cut the tip end of his tail. They could not deny anything since I was there, but tried to blame me anyway. The board should keep a tab of "accidents" and take their license away.
It's ashame that it took an event like this to bring this type of a "rule" in to being. It should be taken for granted that one should never leave a dog on the grooming table unattended! My sympathies to the family that owned Jag.
Words can't even express how sad this is. This should have never, ever happened. There is NO reason for such stupidity on the person's behalf. So, so sad. Rest in peace, Jag.
