This is TOTALLY inexcusible !
If you can't watch a dog on a grooming table perhaps you shouldn't be using one.
As a professional groomer I feel this is just a senseless death
God Speed Jag
This is a tragic situation, especially in light of the fact that there are "break away" grooming restraints available that would prevent this sort of accident. I hope to see penalties attached to this. And, yes, I agree, it is the ethical duty of anyone seeing a dog in a potentially dangerous situation to safe guard that dog.
Jag, your brief life had many purposes-Being a Heart Dog was one. May "The Jag Rule" give your sensless death meaning, and may we never forget our dogs' trust.
I know that Jag is waiting at the Bridge and may his owners trust in that. TO THE AKC:Step up to the plate and make this mandatory! Obviously there are some who don't deserve the trust of a dog!
Such a tragic, senseless way to die. No dog should ever be left unattended on any table- with or without a noose. Without a noose is just an invite to PETA to do some unthinkable act. With a noose is just plain stupid. Please prevent other tragedies. Love to Jag's family.
AKC-
Step up and make sure you do your part to make sure this never happens again. Obviously common sense didn't work in this case!
JAG you will reunite with those you loved at the bridge!!!
20 feet is way to far. Dog should never be more than arm's length from person responsible.
ANYONE WHO USES AUDRA or DENNY SNYDER AFTER THIS HORRIBLE INCIDENT will show the dog world their true colors. No win is worth this mistreatment of an animal!!!!!!!
Additionally, I would like to see some sort of statement indicating that if anyone at shows sees a dog unattended, it is the ethical duty of that person to stay nearby to protect that dog.
No dog should ever be left unattended on a grooming table with a noose around their neck. Too much can happen and we have lost far too many dogs like this.
Jag ~ always remembered but never forgotten!!!
Hopeflly the AKC will take the JAG Rule seriously and fine those who are in violation as well as suspend the offenders.
This rule must be passed to decrease or eliminate the chance of injury or death to any dog. The Snyders must be banned for life from any AKC or UKC event so that no dog or owner EVER again has to go through what Jag and Janis and Teddy have. Honesty, integrity and professionalism must mean something. Snyders don't posess any of these qualities.
What happened to Jag is criminal behavior. Be they beloved show dogs or beloved pets, they never should be subjected to such horrific neglect. AKC, please come down with all your wrath on any owner, breeder, handler, caretaker who commits such unconscionable crimes against "our best friends" who give us the greatest gifts, unconditional love and loyalty.
