People who would 1) leave the dog in a grooming noose should NOT be professional handlers 2) people who would lie about having done so should not only removed from the ranks of professional handlers and NEVER again allowed to show dogs, but also should be prosecuted.
I'm in utter shock at hearing about this. I'm glad they are suing these morons, and I hope they do it for everything they are worth. My condolences to Jag and his owners.
We all know that there are people who breed and/or show dogs who do not care about the individual dogs themselves and are doing this for other reasons. We who do love dogs must protect the animals in every way we can from those who would be cruel or negligent.
I find this lack of common sense absolutely incredible. I am so sorry to hear about this and it will definately make me more aware of my own dogs' well being when being groomed. My sincere symathies to Jag's owners and to a beautiful dog. What a shame!
They should not only be kicked out of AKC, but any other dog club world wide. The dog community should shun these people with all that they have. I send my sympathy to Jag's owners and of coarse Jag.
This is a senseless tragedy-not only did the dog show circuit lose such a beautiful dog, but the owners are having to deal with such heartache not only from losing their dog but from not getting the absolute truth from their trusted handlers. Rest in peace Jag!!! You will be missed
Totally unnecessary death of an innocent dog. This should be considered animal abuse and the ones responsible should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
I have unfortunately heard of this even at Petsmart where a dog is injured while falling/jumping off an unattended grooming table. It should not be allowed anywhere!
No excuse for this at all. These handlers should not only be removed from the show world of handling, but I question whether or not they ever deserve to own a dog.
Very, very sad. The handlers should be publicly sanctioned. After looking at Jag's pictures and reading the story, I was sad and angry at the same time. What a magnificent dog and what a horrible way for him to cross the Rainbow Bridge. My deepest sympathies to Jag's human family.
How sad that another furkid's life was ended because of someone's negligence. Some laws need to be inforced and people who commit these atrocities pay for their wrong doings.
This kind of unthinking behavior is very common at the shows I've attended. It gives a poor impression of the quality of care given to dogs.
We ache for your loss! So very, very, sorry. That the handlers to whom you entrusted your special " Jag" could show such negligence is unconscionable. There must be some resolution to this pain----
JAG I wish you all the best. This is a tragedy and my sympathy to the family. People need to be vigilant, these animals are like innocent children. If you are not on this earth, I am sure you are in heaven JAG.
Irresponsible and then covering up their " crime" Such behavior is nothing less than criminal and the handlers should be prosecuted and fined!!
I can't possibly state my outrage of this callus, lake of concern for an innocent creature, may they receive the same care from thier " Guardian" .
It's sad that this actually has to be a written rule. You'd think common sense would tell you how irresponsible it is to leave a dog unattended with a noose around its neck. A swift justice to poor Jag's handlers, Denny and Audra Snyder. Shame on you both.
I too show american cockers and to think someone could be so irresponsible with your dog is unbelievable they should be barred from any akc event for ever that is considered abuse in my book.I would be devestated to think my dog was out with such irresponsible handlers. My deepest sympathy to jag's owners. he will be sadley missed by the fellow exhibitors.
I am at a loss for words. Godspeed, sweet Jag, I have lit a candle to help you find your way Home. As far as the handlers go, what goes around comes around, and I hope it does sooner than later.
No dog should be left unattended on a grooming table, no matter if it is at a show or at home. I feel your sadnest and you are in our thoughts. Foxclassic TFT's
