How irresponsible for someone to leave a dog so that it can suffer such a tragic ordeal. Anyone who can be that irresponsible with a so-say beloved pet.
Please make this proposed ruling a reality. It totally amazes me that NOBODY saw poor Jag struggling for his life! Please do NOT allow this to happen again.
What an awful thing to happen. And then to lie to the owners about it. Those handlers should be ousted from AKC for good! How could they of been so stupid leaving that poor dog on a grooming table unattended....IDIOTS
This is AWFUL!!! People pay good money to have their dogs shown and the handlers for this dog were very irresponsible...they definitely should be fined and eliminated from handling any other dogs.
No dog should ever be left unattended anywhere, let alone when it is tied up by the collar on a grooming table, where it could fall off and hang itself--dogs are just like 2 year olds and if they are not attended to properly there is sure to be an accident!! Please make this a proper rule and then make sure the rule is enforced!!
Ummm what kind of stupid idiot would leave a dog unattended on a grooming table????
Thats like leaving your new infant unattended on an examining table. I'm sick of pets suffering at the hands of STUPID people! I sure hope the idiot responsible is prosecuted.
I was sickened to hear of what happened to poor Jag. Let us hope that the AKC will see the wisdom of The Jag Rule, and reduce the risk of another dog going through this.
Tragedies such as this can be avoided if Some irresponsible humans used the brain God gave them. I think the AJK should be fined for animal negligence and abuse.
The Handlers deserve to experience how dying at the end of a noose feels. they compounded their errors by lying and swindling. Let this serve as fair warning to all who might contemplate leaving a dog unattended anywhere.
Duhhhhhhhh!People should think ahead of all their actions. Like: What could happen if I leave this dog on the table with a rope around his neck. It could haave been so easly avoided if people were held responsible for their actions. The facts are they left him there and he was under their suppervions. They took a life away and for that they are guilty.
The loss of Jag is a terrible & completely foreseeable tragety. While the initial offense of leaving the dog unattended was a stupid and foolish lapse in judgement the cover-up is completely intolerable and places the initial mistake in a completely different perspective. The handlers should be prosecuted to the full extend. While the "Jag" rule will not eliminate stupidity it will give power to anyonr observing such carelessness.
Our condolenses to Jags family.
In the UK these people would have been prosecuted for cruelty and taken to court. It would have caused an outrage. Let's hope the 'Jag rule' will stop this happening again. Poor Jag.
Regardless if this story is true or not- there should be MANY laws including this one to insure our beloved pet/family members safety and well being. My prayers for JAG and his family.
I believe when a dog is in a noose or not in one on a grooming table
anywhere he should have someone next to him at all times.
This was a stupid mistake. It is comparable to leaving a child in a locked car on a hot day. I feel deeply for the owner's loss
How many dogs have to die in the care of handlers before they are made to pay for the neglect? So sorry to the owners for thier loss. My heart breaks for you.
