My heart goes out to Jag's family and all who knew him. He was a beautiful boy. This rule should be passed by all organizations who sponsor dog shows and enforced by their representatives. We all need to be advocates for all the dogs we see at shows and if we see a dangerous situation to report it to the superintendent and the AKC representative.
There is NO excuse for a dog being left on a grooming table alone!! It is a simple case of negligence which should NEVER happen!
My deepest sympathies to Jag's owners! Hopefully this will be lesson to all...
This kind of carelessness on the part of pro handlers makes a lot of owners hesitant about sending their beloved dog out with a handler. What a sad story. Poor jag and his owners.
A dog in a noose can slip off with a slip of a paw and be gone. Seeing this beautiful furchild hanging is beyond words of anger and saddness. We outlawed hanging a long time ago. The Tragedy of Jag is beyond irresponsible. Our prayers go out to Jag's guardians. He is at the Rainbow Bridge and waiting.
It is only common sense to leave a dog unattended on a grooming table. There doesn't seem to be much of this in today's society. I am so sad for the owners loss and especially Jag, what a horrible way to die.
This is a horrible tragedy. To often I see dogs left on table, it only takes turning your back for a minute. Professionals should hire someone to stay with the dogs. My deepest sympathy to Jag's owners, I can only imagine your pain.
I would have said it should be common sense not to leave a dog unattended like that but apparently we need a regulation so that this never happens again.
My deepest sympathies to Jag's family. It is critical that we never leave a dog unattended especially with a noose around its neck. May this never, ever happen again.
I surely hope something comes out of this senseless death.Let's pray that Jag did not die in vain. Let's all do what we can to help prevent anything like this happening again. I am from Prince Edward Island in Canada and it could just as easily have happen here. I see dogs left unattended, tied to the grooming arm too many times.
Dear sweet Jag, to have suffered such a tragedy. I can only imagine what his owners went through during this time. AKC should definitely institute and enforce the Jag Rule!
In memory of Jag! Rest well sweet boy! May what happend to you not be in vain.
It's time people start waking up & seeing what does & can happen in the hands of the so-called 'Pros'. I've seen it a thousand times myself.....luckly those lives were saved.
Hopefully the right action will take place against the handlers that allowed this to happen to such a beautiful boy.
