This has always been a concern of mine. So often, you see dogs left unattended on grooming tables. I wonder how many other deaths or injuries there have been. My sympathy to Jag's family.
The AKC needs to be sure Jag's "professional handlers" never handle a dog again.
Don't put your Goldens at risk! Be there always, if you use a handler. Trust no one to care for your dog whose only goal by doing so is to enhance the bottom line. Put perspective back into dog shows!
Words can not express my feelings of disgust. I'm stunned that any Golden person could do what they Snyders have done. May Jag and his owners be able to find peace!
Poor Jag, how could someone neglect an animal in such a way. Would they do the same for there children? Animals are living creatures to, they need love and care just like the rest of us. I hope everyone will always remember Jag, I know I will. Rest in peace!!!
We all lecture pet owners to never leave a dog unattended and noosed---yet they come to shows adn see it done all the time by the people they consider "experts." I'm sure in this adn all cases the people doing it consider the dog trustworthy, but we all know better than that when it comes to dogs and accidents, and we need to set an example and take the utmost care---even if that means we need a rule to enforce it.
What a senseless loss. I'm sure the groomer never thought it would happen to him/her but carelessness caused what had to have been a horrible death for a beautiful boy. My sympathy to Jag's family and a hope that it never happens again.
You would never consider leaving a human child alone in a bath for fear it could drown. Why not use the same God given common sense and protect animals too? My sympathy to Jag's parents
