Jag I hope you are running and playing at Rainbow Bridge now but please visit your family often in their dreams. I know your family is just so heartbroken and misses you terribly. May the ones responsible for your untimely demise be held accountable for their negligence and inhumane actions thereafter.
Hopefully something positive will come from this tragedy--that being no dog is ever left unattended on a grooming table with or without a noose on his or her neck.
I don't know what to say. These people who lied and covered up poor Jag's death need to be dealt with and need to pay the price for their neglegence. I am soo sorry. R.I.P. Jag.
This should never have happened to this wonderful dog. AKC needs to monitor the behavior of handlers at shows more. They often leave several dogs at a time a shows unattended at shows.
I can not believe anyone would leave a dog on a grooming table with a noose on his neck. However I see it at the shows all the time.
What horrible people to not only kill someones dog by accident but then to lie about it and let these people think their dog had disappeared.
Based on what I have seen at some shows lately, this did not suprise me one bit. The pro-handler must be expelled for good. This will leave an everlasting impression on the other fools.
My heart goes out to Jag's family and to Jag. This is an inexcusable tragedy. I wholeheartedly agree with fellow petitioner John St. Pierre that "Those responsible should be held accountable for their negligent and heartless conduct", and I, too "admire...the ir tenacity in seeking justice for the loss of their beloved boy."
My sympathies. I would expand the petition to include leaving dogs unattended in xpens. How many handlers have lost dogs who jumped over the xpen or knocked it over! Violation should result in a Bench show committee hearing.
I've seen unattended dogs on the tables much too often and often withth enoose around their neck. If we don't police our sport, others will. For the good of our companions, we need this rule.
As a breeder and handler of my own dogs I see this kind of practice going on at shows all the time. Sometime the dogs are not attached to the table but most of the time they are held by the grooming noose alone and nothing else attached. The dog may stay on the table 99.99% of the time but it only takes one time for a such a horriable thing to happen. Accidents do happen but live up to your mistakes and take the consequences up front and not make up stories.

This should be common sense but if it must be made into law to be abided by, so be it. I am so sorry a single dog had to suffer at the hands of such irresponsible and non caring people. My hearfelt sympathy to Jag's family.
This is animal cruelty & Neglect that is punishable by law... This should be reported and charges laid through your ASPCA,(SPCA Canada) UNACCEPTABLE PERIOD!!!
This tragedy will be in all our hearts and minds for a long time and will make us all more aware and cautious forever!
My heart and prayers are with you.
Perhaps AKC should look at the numbers of dogs a handler can have at a given show. In the 24 yrs of being involved in the CFA & AKC shows I have seen to many cats & dogs stolen or die because of lack of supervision.
I have participated in showing dogs for over 14 years. Durning that time I have seen many dogs left unattended on grooming tables noosed up so tight that they cannot even sit down. They are often left for long periods of time unattended. Left to stand and wait. Often they are in hot conditions as well. Not only do I view this as a cruel practice but view this practice as one that risks the well being of the dog. As recent events appear to demonstrate this is also a life threatening practice when a dog is left unattened.
My grooming table does not have an arm. I seen no reason to require one in the grooming of my large breed coated dogs. Adequate training and diligent attention to the dog on the table are much more satisfactory to the safety and comfort of my dogs.
I am appalled at the recent report of the death of a Golden Retriever in the care of " professional handlers " and the cover up attempted by these persons.
I hope they are serverly reprimanded and the practice of noosing dogs on grooming tables and leaving them unattended is banded from all AKC events.
In honor of you, Jag, and my deepest sympathies to Janis, Teddy. Jag is now in a special place, the rainbow bridge. May his beautiful spirit live on forever and may you rest in peace, sweet boy.
To the handlers, may you burn in hell for your attempted cover up and horrid attitude. If this would have happened to my dog, all I can say is an EYE for an EYE ! ! You disgust me.
If this can prevent one more dog injury due to careLESSness, it will be well worth it. This should never have happened the first time, don't let it happen AGAIN.
This may sound like common sense, but sometimes it must be in writting to be inforsed, I also think it should be published in 'all' premium lists
