My condolences to Jag's owners. I constantly see handlers and owners for that matter leaving dogs unattended while on tables. I hope that AKC takes action on this.
I have seen dogs to often left unattended on tables. I am thrilled to say this has never been true with my handler. I think anyone should be banned for this especially people who call themselves professionals.
Jag's memorial
should implement rules against this happening to any dog ever again at dog shows or groomer's establishments. Long live Jag's memory "Forever Young"
My deepest sympathy to Jags owners. This is an accident that should never have happened. It was pure and simple carelessness. Not to mention stupid to leave a dog on a grooming table unsupervised.
How anyone can be so irresponsible with an animal is way beyond me! The people responsible for this tragedy should never ever be allowed near another animal!! EVER!!! My heart aches for the owners of Jag!
My deepest condolences to Jag's owners, breeder and everyone who he was a part of. This NEVER should have happened - but in the case of some handlers (these in particular) it is a constant occurrence - more dogs than hands. I handle and never leave a dog on a table unattended, whether it be at home or a show. Guess I was taught properly by the Professional Handlers who I assisted and mentored me.
God Speed Jag.
Heart felt sympathies to Jag's owners. This is truly sad, and also truly a common sense issue. I believe you should always be "In control" of your situation while a dog is on your table! Aside from the obvious, the thing that gets me most about this is the deceit! Professional handlers are people we TRUST with our dogs, That the majority of us love very much. The lies that were told, are hurtful to the owners, other exhibitors, and to professional handlers. Honesty!! I think most people can accept an accident, but to fabricate such a story, at someone's expense. I think Denny and Audra should be banned, but mostly I hope that they actually feel the guilt and shame in what they have done.
I , once saved a dog from strangulation, hanging from a noose, the handler told me off and never touch her dogs again, what to do next strangle the handler????
As the owner/mother of "Jolly Ole Saint Nick", we must NEVER allow this abuse to happen again. If you're going to show, then show responsibly and professionally.
This is was a tragic loss that did not have to happen. Anyone, with common sence would not leave a dog unattended on a grooming table.I would never leave my own dogs on a grooming table with out someone there with them, I dont see how they could have done this with someone elses dog!
This is a prudent and necessary rule to help ensure the welfare of "man's best friend" from careless, uncaring and unprofessional people in the show dog world!
This is just outrageous! AKC -- approve this rule and put it into effect ASAP! Enforce it to the fullest extent and when violated, punish to the fullest extent! This should never, ever happen to another dog! It should have never happened to Jag. These handlers should be banned from further AKC events for life. Do something about this AKC!!!
I have always been terrified when any dog is left alone on a noose on the table. This incident shows what can happen. I have seen them fall and the table fall on them, once breaking the dog's leg. Totally unacceptable behavior for anyone, especially one who may be in charge of a dog, his or anyone else's. These people need to understand that there are those of us who would dish out the severest punishment for this lack of caring and responsibility. Of course my belief is that they will get their true punishment in the hereafter. Get this as a rule and then ENFORCE IT!!!!!
AKC should name the rule of unattended dogs after this poor dogs fate....Called the "JAG RULE", leave no dog unattended while on event show property. It should be enforced to the Max.
Sympathy sent with all my heart to Jag's owners.
God Speed Jag!
