Job well done on 24, but thats all I really know about the guy. He does seem rather fit for the role, so he has my vote for 007. (Anyone else think he bares an uncanny resemblance to Brosnan?)

Ever since I saw him in ER last year in the States I knew he should be the one! He has the Sex Appeal, The Suave and Sophistication needed by an actor to play James Bond. He also would bring a modern element to the role and would probably last as long as Sean Connery did, because he is so young! There isn't another soul around today to take on the role.

While watching "24", I never thought about this possibility (though I had the hope that Saunders wouldn't be killed, so we could have more Paul at the next season....), but now, that people started talking about it, I can easily see Paul as the next "Bond, James Bond". Let's admit it: the guy is very, very, very, sexy. The best guy for this role, absolutely.
Paul is the perfect choice. He has the perfect look, the perfect accent, the perfect (OH! MY GOD!!!!) figure and is the sexiest acotr from all that the 007 production have considered, so far.

I don't know when you started this petition, but apparently we must have read each others minds, because while watchin' 24 (Div-xed from the States, they're only at season 2 here in Belgium)with some friends (film/series adepts) we were all goin' "they should cast this guy to be the next James Bond". When I heard this guy, I just searched for an answer where he's accent will be in placed. Then I watched 24 inside and heard about the "bond rumours". I just got the answer. HE WILL BE THE NEXT BOND!!! No doubt about it ... so please for all bondfans give him the chance and Brosnan is out forever...

Like previous comments Paul B does have a similar appearance and stature to that of Sean Connery. The English accent just further the supports my opinion that he could be the next James Bond

Paul Blackthorne is the perfect 007 in everyway. I couldn't imagine anyone else playing the part now that I have seen his work. He is an absolutely fabulous actor and I wish him all the best.
We know him- a mutual friend of a friend. Met back in 2000. We think he'd make a fantastic James Bond! He was great in "Lagaan" as the evil 'Captin Russell'. Good Luck Paul!
OK--here's the scoop: Paul has all the right stuff--the looks, the talent, the wry humor, the intelligence, the "star" quality, the camera loves him, etc. he's also a dream to work with--and that's a huge factor--absolutely nothing fazes the guy: a pro from start to finish. worked on the same film in maine, can emphasize earlier comments by sabine hviid, louise fenton, lord lewis rees. ...'way to go, paul!
Never heard of the guy until 24. At first I thought it was Billy Zane with an incredible dialect coach. But, after watching Blackthorne throughout season 3 of 24, I can't imagine anyone else taking over the Bond franchise. Keep the votes coming!
After witnessing Paul's acting skills and devotion to his art (learning three different dialects of Hindi) in the film Lagaan, I was blown away. I can't imagine any young British thespian better suited to play James Bond. He carries the screen-presence, the charm and the wit that Bond requires.

I've heard rumors ranging from Hugh Jackman and Colin Farrell to Hugh Grant as people being considered. Bond should not be an established star. Blackthorne is perfect. All the right qualities and relatively unknown.
Glad to see so many similar thoughts! I thought Bond immediately when I heard that voice, & then w/his swagger, looks & being able to play complex good/bad (Saunders used to be good), he's perfect for it.
