because Jassi, deserves respect and she derserves to rest in peace. How can a mother plot to kill her child and remain free? Canada needs to re-examine their criminal laws because too many people have escaped punishment and live freely. Does money really buy freedom? Is this really the message we as Canadians want to send the rest of the world? Good riddance!
I had seen shows regarding this some time ago and am horrified to see that it still has not gone to trial. If the Indian Gov't won't prosecute for cultural reasons, the Canadian Government must
It's downright discraceful that those responsible have not been punished and people need to stand together, so that this never happens to another Canadian, regardless of their ethnicity.
because I admire thier courage to follow thier hearts. and I am appalled at the consequences the endured simply because they were in love.Im ashamed for the Canadian law enforcement agencies who have let justice slide for the sake of power and money.
I can't believe how unresponsive the Canadian Police are. What a sad story. I saw this on Dateline NBC a week ago and I keep thinking about it. Justice needs to happen. How sick her family is to have done this.
People all over the world are shocked at Canada's indifference to the murder of a Canadian who happens not to be white. I am absolutely appaled. What a bad image Canada now has! And why hasn't anyone in the RCMP been charged with corruption? It is obvios that money changed hands.
What a sad story... These people absolutely need to be punished..... We should not be harbouring criminals in this country. Especially for such a heinous crime! How can you kill your own child??? They will be punished for their sins one way or another....
its horrible and sad that the Canadian government condones an act like this, especially when it is obvious that a mother has committed an act far greater than evil good ever be unleashed on us-the willful murder of a daughter all because of "family shame". JUSTICE needs to be delivered for Jassi's honour.
I remember this case well and could not understand why the mother was not charged as well. Thank you for answering my question and I hope my petition helps to put her where she belongs "BEHIND BARS" How a mother do such a thing is just sick.
This must be investigated and pursued further. The wealthy cannot hide behind the veil of privilege to do what they wish, and daughters are not like some wart you can have burned off.
After viewing all episodes of the CBC news program, I am ashamed of our lack of law enforcement in this abhorrent crime. Obviously there are fears of "political" backlash here. This has nothing to do with cultural freedoms, it is cold, calculated murder by ignorant, backward thinking individuals. Wake up Mr. attorney-general, this is Canada and you're showing favoritism toward ancient customs that do not belong in our society. Can't you be at least as brave as the numerous individuals of Indian decent that have voiced their disgust by signing this petition or are you willing to bow to the political pressure of a powerful and dangerous lobby. Didn't our fathers die to defend against this, mine did!
I am completely appalled by the complacency of the Canadian gov't regarding the inaction taken to extradite the family and have them prosecuted for taking of their daughter(neice)'s innocent life. These people should be prosecuted here in Canada as well as in India..and deported...!!!!
I support justice and abhor class distinctions and harmful beliefs. "If life is based strictly on certain beliefs, they are no longer beneficial. beliefs benefit only if they can be put in perspective and serve the person, not the belief."
