because we have to put an end to the systematic, culturally based oppression of Indian women - 3 indo canadian women have been killed in the name of honour in surrey bc in the last two weeks alone - THIS MUST STOP BOTH HERE AND IN INDIA!!! we need to send a strong message to those who perpetrate these heinous acts by prosecuting them to the full extent of the law. i would like to know who in the rcmp is being paid off to steer clear of this case...
because Canada is supposed to be a country of freedom and rights...cultural beliefs and customs that cause harm and or death to others can not be tolerated.....known killers should not be allowed to walk free......NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
Pathetic that Canada is allowing these murders to still live active, normal lives in my province it makes me sick. that poor girl died at the hands of her Family .
Religions and cultures need to be held responsible, as do their believers, for the chaos they are encited to in the name of outdated concepts and traditions.
I feel that the mother under no circumstances should ever abondan their child, no matter if that child has disowned their family. I feel the mother and uncle should pay the price for what they did to Jassi and her husband. Even if it means to pay with their own life!!
When I first heard about this I couldn't believe what i was reading, a young beautiful woman murdered by her family simply because she married for love instead of money. How could a mother do this to her child? When I saw Jassi's page on MySpace I had to be a member...I didn't know you Jassi but you will always be remembered!!!!
Every woman should be allowed to love the person THEY want to love... not the person that they are being forced to be with/love. Its not a religion... its murder and no matter what amount of money a person has, there should still be a punishment.
There is no place for this type of mentality in the world today even more so the lack of action. There will never be a change on the greater scale if we can't work on the single person. Lets see some justice.
I work on a degree for abused women & children and hear of all sorts of sad cases, its unfortunate that only when a woman is murdered do we hear of these cases, please start from now to educate yourself on more cases of violence against women.
Justice has been denied and the RCMP weasels still get their paycheque in time.
So why should the RCMP bother ?
329 lives were lost in the Irish Sea and that did not shake up the RCMP. Too much work you see.
The victim is not a "Canadian" Canadian you see. Nor was there any Canadian involvement as in the Ianerro couple's murder in Mexico. (Remember those 2 bimbo's from Thunder Bay or some goforsaken place ? The TV cameras were follwoing them around for several weeks).
Honor killing is more severe and tangible offense than random terrorism.
The RCMP is too lethargic, incompetent and inefficient to realize this.
It is time for an outside and independent body like the International Court of Justice to get involved into cases like this.
