i am a mother and being a mother i can\'t see how a mother can have her own child killed.i just watched a special about JASSI on msnbc and i could do nothing but cry..her mother and uncle should meet the same death she had too.
On this Easter Sunday, I first learned of this horrific tragedy. I am alarmed that much has not been done in Canada to bring the Uncle and Mother to justice. I petition the Canadian government to stop stalling on this case so this young lady who died in the name of love some finally peace.
Something needs to happen. Justice needs to be served. I just watched the Forbidden Love story and my heart truly goes out to Mithu. I truly, deeply and genuinely hope that something changes. I wish there was more that I could do.
i just saw this story on msnbc and it is just so sad...jassi was such a beautiful girl...and so violently, senselessy, murdered. Her mother especially is such a disgrace...to agree to your daughter being killed so horribly is unheard of! How she can live w/herself is amazing! May Jassi rest in peace.
The Honor Killings are done by cowards hiding behind some false sense of social hierarchy. They are the scum of the earth and their caste and those responsible for the barbaric killings should them selves be executed, perhaps then it might begins to disapate when a few snot nosed self appointed elite are behind bars and living in stench and wallowing in self pity.
I am shocked but not surprised of the Canadian Government apathy to take action and bring justice to this case. Having lived in Canada, criminals go free everyday for fear of ruffling the status quo of individual and religious rights. I left Canada for the United States over 20 years ago and am glad I did. After I see what Canada has become, it makes me sad. Had this case occurred where some of the suspected criminals lived in the US, and they were involved in the killing of one of their citizen's in India, action would have been taken by authorities. Unlike the Canadian Government, the US doesn’t turn a deaf ear and blind eye on their own citizens. I hope that Jassi's uncle and mother are eventually brought to justice -- but after this many years, I seriously doubt it. Perhaps our petitions will make a difference.
It does not take a court or jury to realize who has perpatrated the murder. Jassi's family must be tried. If the evidence does not find them guilty in a court of law, it is only then their name should be cleared.
this is really heartbreaking, those rotten people who did this need to be brought to justice so Jassi can rest in peace, and her husband can be free and unafraid.
Free Mithu! I think it's outrageous what happened to Jassi, and then what happened to Mithu! It all springs from that horrible believe that women have no voice in their lives.
Murder is murder, regardless of where or by who. Jassi's mother and Uncle may never be acknowledged by the Canadian legal system, but our creator, God still will protect Jassi.
It is appaling to think the Canadian government has not charged this uncle with the death and assault of the husband. It should be an outrage to have this evil man walking amongst Canadian citizens. If the Canadian government cannot do the job, then please send him to the town where Jassi died that want to give her justice and seeks to have him brought there for justice.
I am horrified that this woman's free will was destroyed by her selfish family. Justice should be served and all responsible (especially her mother and uncle in Canada) should be jailed for life.
Jassi needs justice.... and justice is only one !!! that is by putting her uncle and mother behind bars forever and hanging them upside down and throwing belts on their bare backs .... same as they did on mithu!!! those cruel people should be shown exactly the same what they did to others !!! thats the only true justice for low class people like these !!!! by having millions of dollars dont make one rich.... its ones thinking by which he is rich !!! CANADIAN POLICE SHOULD JUST SEND JASSI'S UNCLE AND MOTHER TO INDIA!!! THATS WHAT JUSTICE REQUIRES !!!!
This is sad, sick, and wrong. I hope these people who killed a young woman for marrying the love of her life get hard labor... or a stiffer punishment. How is killing someone an
