My boys were taken from schools without my knowlledge and snuck to the police station and questioned. THEY HAVE RIGHTS. ONE OF MY CHILDREN IS A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD AND HIS RIGHTS WERE VIOLATED TWICE OVER
because these are our children! This is our future! I cannot imagine what goes thru the minds of these "politicians" that make our laws. They just don't get it. It's amazing that most adults being charged will get 2-3 even more chances to make mistakes and our children are being branded as "adults"! I feel the Miranda Rights need to be tweaked to add a clause protecting our children.
Children ARE children with no concept of the legalities of forfeiting Miranda Rights. Adults should NOT take advantage of this fact and try to trick children.
I agree that juveniles should not be able to waive their miranda rights without first consulting with a parent at the place of questioning, or with the advice of a juvenile lawyer.
i think dead beat dads should have to pay child suport to there kids i have 5 childern and my x dont pay a dime and they shouldnt be allowed to get away with it and they shouldnt be allowed to make a kid and for get them unless they are handy caped
because a child should be given the same rights as an adult, especially since our justice system thinks that is acceptable to charge children as adults in certain cases.

I support this petition 100% Children do not understand the seriousness of giving up these rights. And to be able to sign them away without a parent present is neglectful of law enforcement.
I support this petition.In the bible, most didn't start their ministries until age of 13 and after that god was there to help them and other leaders with exeperience where there to guide them. It also tells us that our children with be weaker and wiser. Our children have parents and guardians for that prime reason, they need help,guidance and instruction. That is one of the parenting responsibilities.They should not be able to wave their rights or be talked to without a parent or guardian present. Our children are just that children. If we don't protect our children, tommorrow will only be destruction, because they are our tommorrow.
Many adults do not understand the implications of miranda warnings how can we expect those under 18 to understand they may be signing their life/freedom away.
Particularly after viewing the Cody Posey trial- it is obvious that WE (as a society) Must help those that can't help themselves. Always talk of playing "good cop/bad cops"- except in this case where was that "good cop?"
