I am now 24 but i worked really hard babysitting and bussing tables when i was 12. I say if young adults want good jobs and if they are willing to really appreciate it and take it seriously then let them have it! Good for you guys! But you have to take it seriously.. and i think there should be a limit as to what you can do.. no offense.
Im twelve and i get paid $20.00 every other month yes i get paid but i can spead that in one day i need a job that you can do every week not every other month know what i mean.

Im 12 years old and i think its bull crap that we cant work! I meen when we try we can be usefull even if its just setting tables at a diner or something. My dad says this wont work cuz were under age and have no voting rites but ya never know. :)

i mean we could work at a cash register or we could bag stuff at a grocery store. or work at blockbuster putting movies in alphabetical order so we could earn some money and it would teach us more responsibility.
i think that younger people should be able to get jobs to. Just because a person is a couple of years younger does not mean there not resbonsible with a job.!
Im tired of doing my parents work for only a dollar a week. I understand that because of are age it is not propper for us to work at some fast food resturant, and I also understand that many employers would not even consider of hiring us but I know some would. I would be willing to have a rate for jobs under minnium wage. So we get something like 1.50 an hour for jobs like washing windows or some low class job. We are not asking for much Bush you and your party can work something out. This action could give are generation and the generations to come a strong work ethic to keep are country strong.

how are kids supposed to make money selling lemanade is like realy hard and at the end all u end up with is like 50cents and mowing peaples lawns isnt bad but i once made 50$ but then the next time u mough the same lawn they give u less money but with this websight kids can make alot more money
Heck yeah I support this I NEED money. And I can work hard. Because I am not going to stand all day in the hot sun trying to sell some lemonade. People dont even buy it at all. And we have a right to stand up for ourselves and do something about no jobs for 12 year old kids
I'm trying to make money before August so I can go to snowboarding camp in Oregon, but I can't go if I don't work hard and earn half the money since my parents agreed to double my earnings. I don't see how I could become a better ssnowboarder if I can't get a job.

The child labor laws are totally unfair! How is a kid supposed to make money? No one is really going to pay for lemonade or having someone mow their lawn! Even if you do stuff around the house parents sometimes don't pay you enough, or at all. Besides parents always tell you, "You have to learn the value of money" how can we do that without a job?!
law is not going to change ..okay you want to make money well i live next to a fleamarket i set up my on booth friday,saturday,and sundya and i make over $120.00 a day! i am making so much i am renting a indoor bay for $200.00 a month! you should try it!

I know that the child labor law prevents adults forcing children to work, but what if we want to work??? We might need money for something we want or need!!! Ibelieve kids 12 years of age should be able to work. Parents don't give you enough money to get what you need. I dog walk for my extra money. Yet my parents force me to buy snacks, clothes, school supplies, and other items for myself. I don't even have enough money for these things let alone extra money for saveing up! It's no fair!!!
I think 12 year old kids should be able to work real jobs and get some money! After all most adults aren't even as smart as 5th graders...Even just working at a small shop, anything can pay more then a lemonade stand!
I understand why there are child labor laws, to keep adults from forced child labor, but if the child agrees willingly to work, then why not let them like work in a retail shop? It doesn't have to be a dangerous place. Also, if the parent forces the kid to work, then the parent isn't fit to parent in the first place, forcing their child to work.
I support this beacuse if teens don't have any money than it makes them want to steal or do drugs a job like selling lemonade is not cool. wow you only get like 7$
