We, the undersigned, offer our sincerest thanks and support to UPN, Viacom, CBS, and Paramount for canceling the program "Enterprise."

As fans of Star Trek and / or science fiction, we feel that "Enterprise" never demonstrated the quality of writing, acting talent, and imagination befitting any association with "Star Trek." "Enterprise" failed at being decent sci-fi. Hell, it even failed at being mildly entertaining and the numbers show it.

Trek-related shows have the rare advantage of having a pre-built, nearly fanatical fan base. With a combination of tired clichés, poor acting, plots dredged from earlier Trek shows, cringe-worthy writing, and an inescapable atmosphere of uninspired hand-wringing, Enterprise managed to squander this built-in audience and proceeded to turn away over 10 million viewers in the United States alone during its run.

Over 10 million viewers tuned out and never returned - that's a staggering amount of to lose. Hell, it’s hard to comprehend. For some perspective, that's equivalent to the entire population of Hungary saying “Hey, Enterprise sucks.”

We applaud you for throwing Enterprise into the waste pile of terrible mistakes - Enterprise will surely fit in comfortably with similarly notable stinkers like "AfterMash," the XFL, “My Mother the Car,” and “Galactica 1980.”

Again, we thank you and applaud your decision to cancel “Enterprise.”

Sincerely,

TUNE-OUT (Trekkies United No Enterprise On Our Teles!)
And all supporters of Enterprise’s Cancellation

I support this petition. You know it's was bad that they brought Spiner on 3 times and the show still was not saved.

I laughed so hard the first Enterprise episode with T'pol's 3 minute lotion-rubbing scene. It really proved to me how commited Enterprise was to the Trek ideal... I'm hoping some temporal anomoly can shift the planet into a dimension where Enterprise never happened. Also hopeful that there is *GOOD* trek content in the future.

It all started with the theme song. Watching the pilot, hearing that terrible, terrible adult contemporary crooner, that cheesy melody, I knew we were in trouble from the very beginning. I remember Rick Berman vehemently defending the theme and I distinctly remember losing what little respect I had for his artistic taste that day as well. (sigh) You know, I actually liked Voyager. Even those crappy Fair Haven episodes ...

The Enterprise was a brief example of Starfleet addicted to crack. Now we know crackheads could exist in the future. Especially a Vulcan on crack. Too me, crackheads in space (Enterprise) isn't Star Trek.

Enterprise lost that special spark of hope and adventure that Star Trek used to have. How can ANYONE get attached to these characters, portrayed by below-bad actors. I look at Enterprise's cancellation with a sad smile.

It's been downhill since DS9, but they really bottomed out with this one. Good riddance, let Trek rest, for a decade or two at least.

It was a terrible waste of a concept. It did get a little better in the final season. Trek needs to go away and come back with something innovative.

Paramount, give Trek a rest please. The Beebs drove it into the ground. Coto's current alien-dropping is a no more than sad, last minute attempt to tie the show into Kirk's era. The magic of Star Trek isn't gone. It's just the creativity behind its current projects that is gone.
