Shame on Paramount! I, for one, will boycott this movie. I cannot believe that Paramount would endanger these children, pay them such a meagre sum of money when Paramount stands to make millions, and appear to refuse to help them relocate to a safe place. Again, SHAME on Paramount! It pains me to think that they can't spare some of the money they stand to make to help safely relocate these children off whom they stand to make millions. Just sad....
Afghan children and women had enough torture during their life time....poverty and vulnerability have been increased. If anyone can help, I suggest them to read a few true Afghan life stories....U will feel it's a necessity to help Afghans...Especially after The Kite Runner
What I've been reading is terrible news. I really enjoyed the book and the movie, but at what cost was this film produced? Is the destroyed life of three families worth it?! No, I say!I despised Hollywood even more now.Help these boys please!
Please SAVE these boys from further abuse and fear. I watched the movie and was so emotionally upset. I cried the entire time during the movie and all night. I've lost sleep and want to fly to Afghan and save these little boys!!! Hollywood - You have plenty of money and can do this!!! Make it right!!!
I'm Syrian but live in UAE where those boys are there. I ask you, Khaled Hosseini: If you are really Shiite Muslim and Hazara Afghan, immediately remove those bad scenes.
Hello,
Because of your lack of researching cultrual sensitivity, You are responsiable for the safety of these kids. And we will hold you accountable. You need to get these kids to America, with there family's to insure safety. If anything happens to these children or their family's, you will have their blood on your hands....
It's just unhuman not to care....for you millionaires it would be nothing but for those unfortunate families it would make all difference in the wolrd....there's so much misery and so much suffering all around there, but if we can't save the whole world at least this a little chance you have to do what is right, to make a difference in their lifes...Its your responsability. Please, help them!
A beautiful film made with talented young boys who deserve not only credit but a chance for a better life. Why should the rich in Hollywood just get richer. If the film is meant to bring understanding then surely the change starts on the ground! Give the boys a chance to tudy in the U.S!
If the families need to move out of the country then every assistance should be given by Paramount Pictures to make this possible. They would be very welcome in Manchester, England.
Excellent movie - but I understand the concern. They should come to America. They can go to their Mosque, I will go to my Synagogue, then we can all meet for dinner and love thy neighbor. The American Way. It doesn't have to be a dream.
I believe people should understand the difference between a scene and real life. What we saw in the film is called arts. I hope people start appreciating it, and be open minded enough to see the difference. These boys are actors, and the scene should be seen as that. Acting.
How can you let children suffer further...this movie depicts the suffering of children and adults whom have both endured the wrath of war, and now this to antagonise the children? you felt empathy towards hassan as a fictional character, feel the same towards Ahmad as a real human living in devastated country which has been torn by such hatred.
